Alright, so Memory 6, "On The Defense," is where we get introduced to a brand new gameplay mechanic: Den Defense! Think of it like a mini-game where you're setting up defenses to protect one of your Assassin dens from waves of Templars. It sounds a bit intense, but it's actually pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it.

Walkthrough

First things first, you'll want to place your Assassin Leaders. The game suggests putting them on rooftops, and I'd recommend picking the ones furthest from the den itself. This gives them a good vantage point and spreads out your defenses.

Next up, deploy some crossbowmen. You've got a few unlocked rooftops you can use. Just get a small squad of these guys ready.

When the first wave of Templars shows up, you'll see an indicator to lock on and fire your wrist pistol. Do this! It marks a group of enemies, and it's super helpful for scaring them off or at least slowing them down. Every enemy you take down earns you bonus points, which are crucial for buying more units. Your Assassin Leaders also generate points over time, so keep an eye on that.

Once you unlock the ability to build barricades on the street, make this a top priority. Try to get at least four barricades set up in a row. If you can upgrade the very first one, even better! The reason for this is the final wave, which features a powerful battering ram that can tear through defenses pretty quickly.

As soon as you can, start placing riflemen. These guys are way more effective than the crossbowmen, though they do cost a bit more (5 points extra).

Don't forget, if you're ever short on points and need to build more barricades or units in a pinch, you can 'sell' your deployed units back for a fraction of their cost. It’s a good way to get a quick cash injection.

The L2 or Left Trigger button is your cannon blast. You can tap it for a small, precise shot that's great for a single wave, or hold it down for a three-shot barrage.

Tips

Seriously, building lots of barricades and getting as many riflemen as you can is the absolute key to winning any Den Defense.
If you're aiming for a high score or trying to get the Iron Curtain trophy, try to avoid using the cannon altogether.
Remember to press Circle/B to loot the glowing bodies of fallen enemies. You can get money, bomb parts, and even morale points from them.
For the Iron Curtain Trophy/Achievement, you need to defend the den perfectly: no cannon usage and no damage taken by the den. Focus on those barricades to stall enemies and use riflemen to deal with the tougher siege engines in the final wave.

After you successfully fend off the Templars, you'll get some rare bomb parts, money, and experience for your Assassin Apprentices. Nice!
