Inner Sanctum

Navigate the Inner Sanctum in Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Solve puzzles, read Daniel's diary, and face Alexander's influence to reach the Orb Chamber.

Alright, you're heading into the Inner Sanctum now. Keep moving down those stairs! As soon as you hit the ground floor, look to your left. There's a lever on a pillar – pull it down. This will open up the entrance on the left side, so head on through.

You'll find yourself in a room with a few things to check out. There's a table with a note right in front of you, a strange circle on the floor to your left, and an altar to your right. First, read the note on the table.

This is another entry from Daniel's diary. He's really laying into Alexander here, talking about how he's been manipulated and forced into becoming a murderer. Daniel's had enough and is set on getting revenge.

Now, turn to your right and approach the altar – that pointy thing. Touching it will prick your finger, and then the lights will go out. Don't panic!

Quickly turn around and head for the wall with the weird circle on the ground. You'll notice two candles next to it. Get close to the center of the circle and light up both candles again. You need to be fast here, because if you don't do it quickly, the candles will be blown out again on their own.

Once that's done, exit this room and go straight into the next one directly ahead. You'll see another altar on the left and another weird circle on the right. Go ahead and touch the altar to let it prick you again. Then, stand on the weird circle. The two candles will die out once more. Again, light them up quickly!

As soon as you do this, the whole area will start filling up with that creepy red organic matter. Don't linger! Exit the room and immediately look to your right. You'll see that the big door has opened up. Go through it – you're now entering the Orb Chamber!
