Story Walkthrough

Upon starting Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, you will be prompted to select a difficulty level, which impacts the damage you deal and receive in combat.

You will be thrown into a scene at a bar in Onomichi, where Kiryu gets into a fight and you are introduced to the combat mechanics.

You will then meet Haruto.

The game will flash back to the end of _Yakuza 5_, followed by the immediate aftermath, leading to Kiryu's imprisonment for several years.

Most of this sequence consists of cutscenes (cinematic sequences shown during gameplay).

You will briefly gain control during a vision quest, allowing you to approach people important to Kiryu's life for a recap of their significance.

To proceed, walk into the light to trigger more cutscenes and move to the first actual chapter.
