Learn the basics of Clan Battles in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, including deploying soldiers and leaders, and managing the Deployment Gauge.
Walkthrough
- 1Deploy your own clan members to destroy enemies.
- 2Most missions require you to wipe out all enemies before the time runs out.
- 3Deployed members will automatically move to the nearest foe and attack until their HP (Hit Points) runs out.
- 4In multi-area missions, your deployed team will automatically transition to the next area upon clearing the current one and resume fighting.
- 5Use the cursor to select deployment locations and scroll between clan members.
- 6Deploy a selected member to the cursor location, or move a deployed leader to that location.
- 7Hold a button to move the cursor faster.
- 8Move the camera to the selected leader's position.
- 9Use the selected Leader's Skill (a special ability).
Deployment Gauge:
- The blue meter at the bottom of the screen (HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap) - Heads-Up Display) is the Deployment Gauge.
- You need enough points in the gauge to cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) the cost of deploying members.
- The gauge starts low and caps at 300 points.
- It replenishes a few points per second and gains points for every enemy defeated.
- Certain Leader Skills can fill the gauge.
- Putting higher-level leaders in your Hierarchy increases the starting amount of the gauge, boosting your clan's power.
Deployment Options:
- Soldiers:
- These are basic units that can only take a few hits.
- They are cheap to deploy, with a cap of 100 deployed at once.
- You cannot control them once deployed; they automatically attack the nearest enemy.
- The types of soldiers you can deploy are determined by the icons next to your leaders in your Strike Team.
- Having multiple leaders with the same soldier icon reduces the deployment cost for that soldier type.
- Soldier Types:
- Brawler (Red): Basic fighter, punches enemies. No significant strengths or weaknesses. Often the cheapest option due to many leaders having this icon.
- Gunner (Gray): Stands still and fires at enemies from a distance.
- Heavies (Green): Can withstand more damage but are slow.
- Rusher (Blue): High attack and fast movement, but cannot take much damage.
- Grenadiers (Yellow): Throw powerful grenades with splash damage, but they take time to set up and can be dodged.
- Soldiers are best used to support leaders and distract strong foes, as they cannot withstand as much punishment as leaders.
- Leaders:
- Leaders have a considerably higher deployment cost than soldiers.
- If a leader is defeated, they need time to recover before being deployed again.
- Leaders fight harder, last longer, gain experience, and have usable skills.
- You can control leaders and place them on the battlefield.
- More specific information about Leaders is in the Clan Leaders section.
Suggested Deployment Strategy:
- Start by deploying a few leaders.
- Deploy remaining leaders as your Deployment Gauge allows.
- Once all six leaders are deployed, constantly send out soldiers to support them and distract strong enemies.
Victory or Defeat:
- Most missions have a win condition of wiping out all enemies.
- Most missions have a defeat condition of running out of time.
- If defeated: Your leaders gain a small amount of XP for their kills.
- If victorious: You gain XP for kills, victory XP, money, and potentially a new Leader for your clan.
Tips
- Focus on deploying leaders as your primary fighting force due to their strength and abilities.
- Use soldiers to supplement your leaders and absorb damage or provide distraction.
- Pay attention to the enemy composition and deploy appropriate soldier types.
- Manage your Deployment Gauge effectively by defeating enemies and utilizing Leader Skills.
