Mastering Time Attack isn't just about raw power; it's about optimizing your party, understanding enemy patterns, and executing flawless combat rotations. Accessing the Land of Challenge

To begin your Time Attack journey, you must first access the Land of Challenge. This area becomes available after purchasing the Expansion Pass for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Once purchased, a new Quest, "The Land of Challenge," will appear. Follow the quest markers to the Aetia Region, specifically near the Gura Flank Camp rest spot. Completing this short quest will grant you access to the Land of Challenge portal.

Understanding Time Attack Challenges

Within the Land of Challenge, speak to the Nopon Archsage to view the available Time Attack challenges. These are categorized by difficulty and often feature specific enemy types or unique combat modifiers. Each challenge has a target completion time, and achieving better times grants higher ranks and more lucrative rewards.

• Bronze Rank: Basic completion, often just clearing the challenge.
• Silver Rank: A respectable time, usually requiring a solid strategy.
• Gold Rank: Excellent time, demanding optimized builds and execution.
• Platinum Rank: The ultimate achievement, requiring near-perfect play and often specific party compositions.

Rewards typically include Noponstones (which can be exchanged for powerful accessories and outfits), experience points, and sometimes even unique accessories not found elsewhere in the game.

General Strategies for Success

Party Composition is Key

The most crucial aspect of Time Attack is your party setup. Unlike the main story, where a balanced team is generally sufficient, Time Attack often demands specialized roles and synergistic Arts. Consider the following:

• Damage Dealers (Attackers): Focus on high-DPS classes like Flash Fencer, Seraph, or Incursor. Equip them with accessories that boost critical hit rate, critical damage, and attack power, such as the Optical Headband (found in Fornis Region chests) or the Titan Belt (purchased with Noponstones).
• Tanks (Defenders): While offense is important, a good tank can prevent wipes. Classes like Guardian Commander or Heavy Guard are excellent. Equip them with accessories that increase Block Rate, Evasion, and HP, such as the Steel Protection (dropped by certain Unique Monsters) or the Defense Scarf (available through Noponstone exchange).
• Healers (Healers): Essential for sustained fights. Medic Gunner and War Medic are strong choices. Prioritize accessories that boost healing power and reduce Art cooldowns, like the Healer's Ring (found in various chests) or the Feather Cloak (Noponstone item).

Optimizing Equipment and Gems

Ensure all your active party members have their best available equipment and fully upgraded Gems. For Attackers, focus on Gems like Attack Power Up, Critical Rate Up, and Critical Damage Up. Tanks should prioritize Defense Up, Block Rate Up, and HP Up. Healers benefit greatly from Healing Power Up and Art Recharge Up.

Mastering Chain Attacks and Ouroboros Fusion

Chain Attacks are your primary source of burst damage and invincibility frames. Learn the optimal Chain Order for your party to maximize damage multipliers and gain extra rounds. Ouroboros Fusion Arts, especially those with powerful AoE or single-target damage, should be integrated into your rotation for maximum efficiency. Timing your Ouroboros transformations to coincide with enemy vulnerability windows or to avoid devastating attacks is crucial.

Enemy Weaknesses and Resistances

Before entering a Time Attack challenge, take note of the enemy types. Are they primarily physical or ether attackers? Do they have specific elemental weaknesses? Adjust your party's Arts and Gems accordingly. For instance, if facing a group of enemies weak to Fire, ensure your party has several Fire-based Arts equipped.

Challenge: "Infernal Gauntlet"

Enemies: Multiple high-HP Flame-type Guldos and a powerful Infernal Dragon Unique Monster.

1. Party Setup:
   • Noah (Flash Fencer): Main DPS. Equip Optical Headband, Titan Belt. Gems: Critical Rate Up VI, Critical Damage Up VI, Attack Power Up VI.
   • Mio (Guardian Commander): Main Tank. Equip Steel Protection, Defense Scarf. Gems: HP Up VI, Block Rate Up VI, Aggro Up VI.
   • Eunie (Medic Gunner): Main Healer. Equip Healer's Ring, Feather Cloak. Gems: Healing Power Up VI, Art Recharge Up VI.

2. Strategy:
   1. Opening: Have Mio immediately draw aggro from all Guldos. Noah and Sena should focus on bursting down one Guldo at a time to reduce incoming damage quickly. Taion should apply debuffs like Topple or Break to set up Burst combos.
   2. Infernal Dragon Phase: Once the Guldos are cleared, the Infernal Dragon will become your primary target. This monster has high Fire resistance, so avoid Fire Arts. Focus on Physical and Ether damage.
   3. Chain Attack Timing: Initiate a Chain Attack as soon as the gauge is full, ideally when the Infernal Dragon is debuffed or vulnerable. Prioritize Noah and Sena for high damage output during the Chain Attack. Use Eunie's Chain Order bonus to refresh Arts for the next round.
   4. Ouroboros Fusion: Use Noah/Mio's Ouroboros form for its powerful AoE and single-target Arts to quickly deplete the Dragon's HP. Time your fusion to avoid the Dragon's "Inferno Breath" attack, which can deal massive damage.
   5. Sustained Damage: Continue to cycle through your Arts, focusing on combos that inflict Break, Topple, Daze, and Launch for maximum damage. Eunie should be vigilant with healing, especially after the Dragon's more powerful attacks.
