Find the Snake Doctor in Where Winds Meet at the Encircling Lake. Learn tips for navigating the snake pit and defeating the boss with its pole attacks and smoke screen.

To find the Snake Doctor in Where Winds Meet, head to the Encircling Lake in Qinghe. Locate the cave entrance on the west side of the cliff, near the main road. An NPC from the Silver Needle group will be nearby. You'll receive the Dead Man’s Secret Wandering Tale, which allows entry into the cave to find the World Boss, though it's not strictly necessary to complete the quest.

Upon entering the cave, be cautious of the pit of snakes. These enemies are strong and can quickly overwhelm you. Avoid the pit by using Lightness skills to dash across or along the walls. Move left immediately upon entering to evade them. Consider using a defensive Spiritual Art skill like the Golden Bell from the Grand Imperial Temple, or the self-absorb tanking skill from the Thundercry Blade to mitigate damage.

Snake Doctor Tips

The Snake Doctor boss itself is manageable, but its difficulty can be influenced by the damage taken from the snake pit. The first phase of the boss's attacks are relatively straightforward. The boss uses a pole for attacks, including side swipes, up swipes, and gap-closing stabs.

A key move to watch for is the boss's smoke screen skill. The boss will deploy three smoke bombs that detonate, creating cover. While obscured, the boss will perform a red attack (a perilous attack) that pokes from behind the smoke. Perfect parrying or perfect dodging this move is crucial.

Be aware that the boss can perform a backflip to disengage from combos. During this maneuver, it may throw fan-of-knives attacks. While these don't deal significant damage, they can catch you off guard. This is often followed by another ranged attack while the boss is stationary.

In the next phase of the boss's health bar, its moveset doesn't drastically change, but it will use its stronger attacks more frequently and become more aggressive.
