How to Get and Spend Commerce Coins: Currencies

How to Get Commerce Coins:

Commerce Coins are passively collected as rewards from many activities. You can win them by wagering in co-op activities with NPCs around towns and cities. They are also earned from various side missions, Wandering Tales, story quests, and other activities found on the map.

For a significant farming method, complete the Meow Meow cat activities in the overworld to earn Bells. This currency can be spent at the Meow vendor near the Bell Tower to purchase a large amount of Commerce Coins. This is a good way to afford longer rental periods for housing.

Alternatively, once you unlock Kaifeng city, special trader missions become available. Each week, a vendor near the Southern Gate Avenue POI, by the southern entrance of the city, will rotate their stock. You can acquire these goods and sell them to the NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) for Commerce Coins, providing a reliable weekly source for currency needed for housing rentals or other items.

Where to Spend Commerce Coins:

Commerce Coins are used for various features in where winds meet. The main uses include:

• Housing rentals
• Social activities like card games, drinking games, and Mahjong
• Group activities and mini-games
• Guild maintenance costs

Housing rentals are the biggest expense, with three houses available in Kaifeng: a Mansion, a smaller house, and a tiny apartment. These range from 1,000 to 10,000 Commerce Coins per month. Renting a house for a set period, like 2 months, means you retain it for that duration in real time (e.g., rent on January 1st for 2 months lasts until March 1st). This is the largest upfront sink for Commerce Coins.

You can also partake in various activities with NPCs that feature mini-games, often involving wagering. These include Mahjong and co-op throwing pot battles. Typically, you wager around 20 Commerce Coins per game and can win coins if you are victorious. These mini-games can be found in most major villages, city POIs, and other areas on the map.

Guild leaders may also require Commerce Coins for the maintenance of guild features.
