Find all 35 Dataslates in warhammer 40000 space marine 2. Learn how to check progress in the Dataslate Repository on the Battle Barge.

There are a total of 35 Dataslates in warhammer 40000 space marine 2: 23 in the game’s seven campaign missions and another twelve in the six Operations mode missions. Campaign missions contain between two and four Dataslates each, while every Operations mode mission has two.

Dataslates by Mission:

  • Skyfire (Kadaku, Campaign): 4 Dataslates
  • Inferno (Kadaku, Operations): 2 Dataslates
  • Severance (Kadaku, Campaign): 4 Dataslates
  • Machinus Divinitus (Avarax, Campaign): 3 Dataslates
  • Ballistic Engine (Avarax, Operations): 2 Dataslates
  • Servant of the Machine (Avarax, Campaign): 2 Dataslates
  • Decapitation (Avarax, Operations): 2 Dataslates
  • Vox Liberatus (Avarax, Operations): 2 Dataslates
  • Voidsong (Avarax, Campaign): 3 Dataslates
  • Reliquary (Demerium, Operations): 2 Dataslates
  • Fall of Atreus (Demerium, Operations): 2 Dataslates
  • Dawn’s Descent (Demerium, Campaign): 4 Dataslates
  • Bellum Sempiternus (Demerium, Campaign): 3 Dataslates

Dataslates glow green until interacted with, making them relatively easy to spot if you search thoroughly. Most levels are not overly long, and extraneous segments are confined. Running along the perimeter of each level should help you find most of them. There is no reward for speed in campaign missions, so there's no penalty for taking your time. In Operations mode, enemy waves can spawn over time, increasing danger, but playing on the lowest difficulty makes the search easier.

Dataslates are typically found on tables, machinery, or the ground, often near corpses and usually along a wall or boundary, never out in the open. They are not hidden in low visibility areas like dust storms or timed segments with environmental hazards. The closest the game comes to hiding them is a Dataslate in a building during the Heldrake bridge segment in Reliquary, which is in a safe location. Dataslates are not hidden under boxes, so destroying environmental objects is not necessary.

The most challenging Dataslates to find are arguably the two during Jump Pack segments in Severance and Voidsong, which require looking up for ledges. A Dataslate in Dawn’s Descent also requires jumping to a platform. Other than Jump Pack Dataslates, one in Severance is behind a sealed door opened by an unmarked terminal, which is unusual as most terminals have objective markers.

Checking Dataslate Progress:

You can check your collected Dataslates by entering the “Battle Barge” menu and navigating to the “Dataslate Repository”. All Dataslates for attempted missions will be listed. A filled-in icon means you found it; a blank spot means you missed it. Dataslates are listed chronologically, helping you narrow down the location within a mission if you missed one.

Once interacted with, a Dataslate is added to your collectibles even if you do not complete the mission. However, there are no mid-mission checkpoints to resume from after completing a mission. If you miss a Dataslate near the end of a level, you will need to replay everything up to that point. The final campaign mission, Bellum Sempiternus, cannot be replayed directly from the Battle Barge; you must play through Dawn’s Descent again to access its Dataslates.

Tips
  • Explore the perimeter of each mission area thoroughly.
  • Dataslates glow green, making them visible even in moderately lit areas.
  • Don't rush; there's no time penalty for exploration in campaign missions.
  • Play Operations mode on the lowest difficulty if you find the enemy spawns too challenging during your search.
  • Check the Dataslate Repository on the Battle Barge regularly to track your progress and identify missed collectibles.
  • Remember that Dataslates are saved upon collection, regardless of mission completion.
