Begin by using Cultists and Chaos Marines to capture Strategic Points and build your economy. Utilize the Forced Labour ability of Heretic builders for faster construction, accepting their demise as they are cheap and quick to replace.

Once Strategic Points are captured, discard Cultists but retain Chaos Marines for fire support. Two or three squads can provide excellent support, especially if the Infiltration ability is researched, as they can attack distracted enemies safely with heavy bolters.

When Possessed Marines become available, use them as a spearhead for fast attacks.

To execute a successful melee assault, swamp the enemy. Send Possessed Marines and Khorne Berzerkers directly into the enemy base to draw out defensive forces.

While defenses are drawn out, deploy Raptors to the side or rear of the base to use Melta Bombs on vital enemy buildings.

Research the technology tree to unlock the Bloodthirster. Deploying a Bloodthirster from an Aspiring Champion amidst the enemy army or base can be a powerful surprise.

For vehicle support, Defilers are useful for close-quarters combat alongside melee troops, but their ranged abilities are less reliable.

For anti-tank ranged support, use upgraded Predators, as Chaos Space Marines lack dedicated anti-tank weapons and Defilers are inaccurate with their main gun.

If planning a rush, focus on a melee rush using Raptors and, if available quickly, Khorne Berzerkers. While Chaos Marines can be used, a melee-focused rush is more efficient.
