Learn how to best utilize Scouts, Tactical Marines, Grey Knights, and Terminators in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War.
Walkthrough
- 1Use a couple of units of Scouts early on to capture Strategic Points. Once the Infiltration research is complete, Scouts can also be used for scouting enemy positions.
- 2Tactical Marines form the backbone of the Space Marine army. Start producing squads as soon as you have a barracks and continue to do so.
- 3Grey Knights are a potent new unit for the Space Marines. They can engage infantry at range or in melee, and can take on vehicles and buildings in melee. However, they are not invincible and require support to avoid being quickly defeated.
- 4With the heavy weapon capacity upgrade, Tactical Squads can wield five heavy or special weapons. It is most effective to equip them with five of the same weapon to create a squad highly specialized for a given role.
- 5Terminators and Assault Terminators no longer require a Relic to train, but you are limited to one unit of each type. Both are very powerful and should be used if you progress that far in the technology tree, provided they receive good support.
- 6Space Marine Honour Guard infantry units are single marines. Group them with your Commander and the Librarian, and add a squad of Assault Marines for extra support to create a very strong melee unit to lead attacks.
Tips
- Consider the Infiltration research for your Scouts to improve their scouting capabilities.
- Focus on producing Tactical Marines consistently as they are essential for your army.
- Grey Knights, while powerful, need support to survive on the battlefield.
- Maximize the effectiveness of Tactical Squads by equipping them with five of the same heavy or special weapon after the upgrade.
- Ensure Terminators and Assault Terminators have adequate support to leverage their power.
- Combine Honour Guard, Commander, Librarian, and Assault Marines for a formidable melee spearhead.
