Alright, let's dive into Part 46 of our Tomb Raider: Legend adventure, which takes us back to Peru in the 'Return to Paraíso' level. This is where things really start to heat up! ### Story So, after that whole business in Bolivia with the stone dais and running into James Rutland Jr., Lara's got a lead on her old friend, Amanda Evert. She's heading back to Paraíso, Peru, because she heard Amanda, who everyone thought was dead, might actually be alive. Lara hooks up with her friend Anaya Imamu, and together they head to the Paraíso digsite. Turns out, this is the same spot where Lara, Amanda, and some other university pals were digging years ago. They uncovered a tomb belonging to the Queen of Tiwanaku. ### Lara Arrives in Paraiso When Lara rolls into Paraíso, it's not exactly a welcome party. The townsfolk are spooked and quickly shut themselves away. Lara meets up with Anaya in the marketplace, right by the Peruvian flag and a big statue. But before they can catch up properly, Rutland's goons show up in trucks and start shooting. Anaya makes a quick getaway in her yellow jeep, leaving Lara to handle the mercs. Lara, being Lara, hops onto the rooftops and then makes her way to the highway. She manages to snag a motorcycle from one of Rutland's guys and speeds off. You'll catch up to some of Rutland's trucks that are chasing Anaya. Take them out, and then you'll join Anaya in her jeep. Together, you'll head towards the Paraíso Digsite – the very place Lara and Amanda used to dig. ### Lara's Flashback This is where we get a peek into the past. Lara flashes back to when she was nineteen, at the digsite with Amanda. They're about to break through into the tomb they've been researching. Amanda's eager to hurry things along, but Lara's a bit hesitant, worried about the rope they're using to get down. She eventually agrees, but wouldn't you know it, the rope snaps as she's climbing down! Lara finds herself in a dark tunnel, using flares to see, and has to swing over a sinkhole. She eventually finds Amanda, but then things go south fast. One of the team members, Eva, gets thrown against a wall by some unseen force, causing a cave-in that separates Lara from everyone else. Lara finds another way through and is horrified to find Sarah dead on the ground. She pushes on and finds Oscar's body, and then Kent, who's alive but trapped behind a barred door. He doesn't know what killed Oscar, but he knows it's coming for him. Lara drops down to help him, only to witness his death by some kind of demon. She barely escapes herself and sees Amanda behind another gate. Amanda tells Lara that Jason and the others are dead before Lara has to run from the Unknown Entity, which kills Phillip. Finally, Lara catches up with Amanda in a room with a sealed door. There's a mysterious artifact stuck in the center. Amanda, in a panic, removes it, thinking it'll open the door. Instead, it temporarily banishes the demon just as it's about to attack. That's quite the reunion, huh?
