The Story So Far

We've seen Lara Croft as a child, experiencing a traumatic event in the Himalayas where her mother, Amelia Croft, vanished into a portal. Years later, as an adult, Lara's quest for answers leads her to Bolivia, searching for a stone dais similar to the one from her past. She's already had run-ins with mercenaries and James Rutland, who seems to be working with Amanda Evert, an old friend of Lara's who was presumed dead.

Lara's journey has taken her through Peru, where she learned about a demonic entity and the tragic events that led to Amanda's supposed death. Now, it seems the artifacts Lara is seeking are connected to the legend of Excalibur, broken into four fragments scattered across the globe. We've seen Lara retrieve one fragment from Yakuza boss Shogo Takamoto in Japan, and another from Rutland in Ghana.

Things got complicated when Amanda raided Croft Manor, looking for something called the Ghalali Key. While Lara was heading to Kazakhstan for the third fragment, Amanda was already there, experimenting with it and using the same glowing stone that controls the demonic entity.

The Quest Continues

After securing the third sword fragment in Kazakhstan, Lara follows a map found on a shield to Great Britain. This leads her to the real tomb of King Arthur in Cornwall, hidden beneath a tourist attraction. Inside, she discovers that Arthur's knights scattered the sword fragments across the world, and the final piece was left with Arthur in hopes of his return.

Lara had to battle a sea serpent and some mercenaries to get to the last fragment. Now, with all four pieces of Excalibur recovered, the next big challenge is figuring out how to put them back together. It turns out the Ghalali Key isn't what Lara initially thought; it was actually a pendant her father gave her mother.
