Thumper's UI is minimalist but provides crucial information. There's no traditional health bar; your 'health' is represented by your metallic shell. Understanding these visual cues is vital for survival and progression.

• Beetle Shell: Your beetle's shell is your life. Each hit you take (missing a turn, hitting an obstacle without attacking, failing a boss attack) will chip away at your shell. If your shell is completely destroyed, you die and restart from the last checkpoint.
• Shield (Blue Aura): When you successfully hit a track segment or defeat an enemy, you gain a blue aura around your beetle. This acts as a temporary shield, allowing you to absorb one hit without losing a shell segment. It's crucial to maintain this shield whenever possible.
• Score Multiplier (Top Left): A small number in the top left corner indicates your current score multiplier. This increases with successful hits and perfect sections. Maintaining a high multiplier is key to achieving S-ranks.
• Checkpoint Markers: These are glowing, circular gates on the track. Passing through one saves your progress, allowing you to restart from that point if you die.
• Boss Health (Boss Fights Only): During boss encounters, a visual representation of the boss's health will appear, usually as glowing segments that diminish with each successful attack.
