Walkthrough: Port Nixon

Survive Port Nixon in The Surge 2 walkthrough. Face Scavengers and Security Guards in this industrial wasteland, upgrading your gear for intense combat.

Welcome to Port Nixon, a grimy, industrial wasteland teeming with new threats and valuable salvage. This area is significantly more challenging than previous zones, so ensure your gear is upgraded and you're prepared for intense combat.

Initial Descent and First Medbay

• Upon entering Port Nixon, you'll immediately face several Scavengers and a new enemy type: the Security Guard wielding a heavy impact weapon. Prioritize dismembering their weapon arm to acquire the Security Guard's Hammer schematic.
• Follow the main path downwards. You'll encounter a small encampment with a few more Scavengers. Clear them out.
• Look for a shipping container on your left. Inside, you'll find a Small Pile of Scrap and a Medi-Voltaic Injection.
• Continue along the path until you reach the first Medbay in Port Nixon. Activate it to set your spawn point and restock on consumables.

The Rusted Docks and Crane Area

From the Medbay, you have a few paths. We'll start by exploring the lower docks.

• Head out of the Medbay and take the path leading down towards the water. You'll encounter more Scavengers and potentially a Security Guard patrolling the lower levels.
• On the docks, near some stacked crates, you can find a Vital Boost v.1 implant.
• Proceed towards the large crane structure. Be wary of a Security Guard often positioned on a raised platform, ready to drop down.
• Underneath the crane, there's a small alcove containing a Large Pile of Scrap and a Drone Module: EMP-44 Starfish. This module is excellent for stunning robotic enemies.
• To activate the crane, you'll need to find the power conduit. Look for a ladder leading up onto the crane's base. Climb it.
• On the upper platform of the crane, you'll find a Power Core that needs to be activated. Doing so will move the crane, creating a new shortcut.

Navigating the Warehouses

After dealing with the crane, it's time to delve into the labyrinthine warehouses.

• Return to the first Medbay. From there, take the path leading directly into the large warehouse complex.
• Inside the first warehouse, you'll immediately face several Scavengers and a new, more agile enemy: the Corrupted Worker. These enemies are fast and often carry one-handed weapons. Dismember their limbs for Corrupted Worker Gear schematics.
• Explore the ground floor thoroughly. You'll find various Scrap Piles and a Reclamation Buddy implant hidden behind some crates.
• Look for a set of stairs or a ramp leading to the upper levels of the warehouse. Be cautious, as enemies often patrol these walkways.
• On the upper level, you'll find a locked door that requires a Security Keycard. For now, ignore it and continue exploring.
• Further along the upper walkway, you'll discover a Chest containing a Plasmic Regenerator v.1 implant.
• Eventually, you'll find another exit from the warehouse, leading to an outdoor area with more shipping containers.

The Contaminated Zone and Shortcut

This area introduces environmental hazards and a crucial shortcut.

• As you exit the warehouse, you'll enter an area with pools of toxic waste. Avoid standing in these for too long, as they inflict continuous damage.
• You'll encounter more Corrupted Workers and potentially a Security Guard patrolling the edges of the toxic pools.
• Look for a path that leads up onto a series of elevated platforms and walkways. This path will eventually lead you to a control room.
• Inside the control room, activate the Ventilation System. This will clear some of the toxic gas in the lower areas, making exploration safer.
• From the control room, you can also activate a Lift that creates a direct shortcut back to the first Medbay, saving you a long trek.

Boss Encounter Preparation

Before proceeding to the next major area, ensure you're well-equipped and have explored thoroughly.

• Return to the Medbay via the new shortcut. Upgrade your gear, spend your scrap, and restock on consumables.
• Consider equipping implants that boost your defense against elemental damage or increase your health regeneration, as the upcoming boss can be quite challenging.
• The path to the boss arena is typically found by continuing past the ventilation control room, through a newly accessible area now that the toxic gas has dissipated.
