While the main narrative of Jericho City will guide you through a series of mandatory confrontations, The Surge 2 is rife with hidden challenges and powerful foes that offer unique rewards and further insight into the city's crumbling state. These optional bosses and encounters are not to be underestimated, often requiring specific strategies and gear optimization. Tackling them can significantly bolster your character's power and provide access to some of the game's most potent equipment.

Little Johnny's Secret Stash

This isn't a boss fight in the traditional sense, but rather a challenging gauntlet leading to a valuable reward. It's accessible after defeating Little Johnny in the Gideon Rock area.

• Location: After defeating Little Johnny, return to the main arena. Look for a partially opened gate on the lower level, near where you first entered the boss area. You'll need to use your Drone Module with the EMP-44 "Starfish" to open it.
• Walkthrough:
  1. Once through the gate, you'll enter a series of claustrophobic corridors patrolled by several Iron Maus enemies. These foes are heavily armored and can deal significant damage. Focus on dismembering their weapon arms to reduce their offensive capabilities.
  2. Proceed carefully, as some areas are booby-trapped with proximity mines. Use your drone to detonate them from a safe distance or bait enemies into triggering them.
  3. You'll eventually reach a small chamber with a locked door. To open it, you'll need to find a Security Keycard. This keycard is located on a defeated Iron Maus in a side corridor just before this chamber. Be wary of another Iron Maus ambush in this area.
  4. Inside the final chamber, you'll find a chest containing the Jaguar's Paw weapon and several high-tier crafting materials. The Jaguar's Paw is a fast, high-impact one-handed weapon with excellent energy gain, making it a strong contender for many builds.

  • Bring plenty of healing injectables. The Iron Maus enemies are relentless.
  • Utilize your drone for crowd control and to detonate traps.
  • Consider equipping armor with high impact resistance to mitigate damage from the Iron Maus's heavy attacks.
  • Parrying is highly effective against the Iron Maus if you can master their attack patterns.

The Scavenger (Downtown Jericho City)

This elusive foe is a recurring optional encounter that can appear in various locations, offering unique gear if you manage to defeat them.

• Location (First Encounter): The Scavenger can first be encountered in Downtown Jericho City, specifically in the alleyways near the Central Plaza MedBay. Look for a distinctive pile of scrap and a faint electrical hum.
• Walkthrough:
  1. Approaching the scrap pile will trigger the Scavenger to emerge. They are equipped with a unique set of light armor and a fast, dual-wielded weapon.
  2. The Scavenger is incredibly agile, often dodging and weaving around your attacks. Their primary strategy involves quick flurries of attacks followed by evasive maneuvers.
  3. Focus on parrying their attacks to create openings. Their light armor makes them vulnerable to dismemberment once stunned. Target their weapon arms to quickly reduce their damage output.
  4. Be mindful of their occasional leaping attacks, which can cover a surprising distance.

• Location: In Port Nixon, near the large cargo containers and the area leading towards the Delver boss fight. Look for a seemingly inactive drone perched on a high container.
• Walkthrough:
  1. Approaching the area will activate the "Sparky" drone. It will immediately begin firing rapid energy projectiles and deploying electric mines.
  2. The drone is airborne, making melee attacks difficult. You'll need to rely heavily on your drone's abilities. The JAGUAR "Thunderbolt" or SPARK "Sparkplug" modules are highly effective.
