The Kraken Expansion

The Kraken expansion introduces a brand new, sprawling offshore aircraft carrier zone, the VBS Krakow, accessible after a certain point in the main story. This DLC features new enemy types, unique boss encounters, and a wealth of powerful gear, including the formidable Kraken Gear Set.

Accessing the VBS Krakow

1. Prerequisite: You must have progressed far enough in the main story to have access to the Downtown Jericho City area.
2. Locate the Quest Giver: Head to the Cloud 9 Bar in Downtown Jericho City. Look for a character named Captain Cervantes. He will be near the entrance, often leaning against a wall or sitting at a table.
3. Initiate the Quest: Speak with Captain Cervantes. He will inform you about the VBS Krakow and the dangers it poses. Accept his quest to begin your journey to the new area.
4. Travel to the VBS Krakow: After accepting the quest, a new objective marker will appear on your map, guiding you to a boat dock in Downtown Jericho City. Interact with the boat to travel to the VBS Krakow.

Key Areas and Challenges on VBS Krakow

• Deck 1: Hangar Bay: This is your initial landing zone. Expect heavy resistance from new, heavily armored security forces and robotic drones. Focus on dismembering limbs to acquire schematics for the VBS Guard Gear Set.
• Deck 2: Crew Quarters & Mess Hall: Navigate tight corridors and encounter more agile, close-quarters combatants. Keep an eye out for hidden caches containing Advanced Tech Scraps and Module Upgrades.
• Deck 3: Bridge & Command Center: This area often houses mini-boss encounters. Be prepared for environmental hazards and enemies with unique attack patterns. The Kraken Boss is located deeper within the command center.

Notable Gear and Items in The Kraken

• Kraken Gear Set: This heavy-duty armor set offers excellent defense and unique set bonuses focused on energy gain and stability. Schematics are dropped by the Kraken boss and specific elite enemies on the VBS Krakow.
• Kraken's Fury (Weapon): A powerful one-handed weapon with high impact and energy generation. Obtained by defeating the Kraken boss and dismembering its weapon arm.
• VBS Guard Gear Set: A medium armor set providing good all-around protection and bonuses to stamina regeneration. Schematics are dropped by regular VBS security personnel.
• "The Great Eviscerator" (Weapon): A massive two-handed weapon found in a hidden compartment within the Crew Quarters. Requires solving a small environmental puzzle to access.

Strategies for The Kraken Boss

The Kraken boss is a multi-phase encounter. Here's how to tackle it:

1. Phase 1: Tentacle Attacks: The Kraken will primarily use its massive tentacles to sweep and slam the arena. Dodge these attacks and focus on dismembering the tentacles to reduce its reach and gain valuable crafting materials.
2. Phase 2: Exposed Core: After damaging enough tentacles, the Kraken's core will be exposed. This is your window to deal significant damage. Use high-damage single-target attacks. Be wary of its electrical discharge attacks during this phase.
3. Phase 3: Enhanced Defenses: The Kraken will become more aggressive, deploying smaller drones and increasing its attack speed. Prioritize taking out the drones to avoid being overwhelmed, then return your focus to the core.

Recommended Implants: Consider equipping the Vital Boost for increased health, and the Reclamation Buddy for additional healing during the fight.
