Walkthrough: A.I.D. Command (Part 2)

Continue your Surge 2 walkthrough through the A.I.D. Command center. Learn to navigate the Main Command Center, manage intense combat, and acquire vital items.

Welcome back, prospector! This section picks up directly after you've dealt with the initial A.I.D. forces and accessed the main command center. Prepare for more intense combat and crucial item acquisition as we delve deeper into the heart of A.I.D.'s operations.

Navigating the Main Command Center

Upon entering the main command center, you'll immediately notice the elevated walkways and numerous A.I.D. soldiers patrolling. Your primary objective here is to disable the security systems and gain access to the lower levels.

• Initial Engagement: Two A.I.D. Troopers will be directly ahead on the ground floor. Engage them carefully, focusing on dismembering their weapon arms for potential A.I.D. Trooper V2.0 Weapon Schematics.
• Upper Level Access: Look for a ramp or staircase to your left or right (depending on your entry point) leading to the upper walkways. Be wary of ranged enemies, specifically an A.I.D. Sniper, positioned on the far end of the upper level. Prioritize taking them out to avoid constant harassment.
• Security Terminal: On the upper level, you'll find a security terminal. Interacting with it will require a specific access code, which you should have acquired from a fallen officer in the previous section (if not, backtrack and search thoroughly). Inputting the correct code will disable the laser grids on the lower level.
• Looting Opportunities: Before descending, thoroughly explore the upper walkways. You can often find Tech Scraps in crates and sometimes a Large Tech Scrap Bundle hidden behind some machinery. Keep an eye out for a chest containing Advanced Implant: Vital Boost, a valuable implant for increasing your maximum health.

Descent to the Lower Levels

With the laser grids down, you can now access the lower sections of the command center. This area is more confined and presents new enemy types.

• New Enemy: A.I.D. Heavy Trooper: These formidable foes wield heavy weapons and possess significant armor. Their attacks are slow but powerful. Focus on dodging their swings and targeting their weapon arm for a chance at A.I.D. Heavy Trooper V2.0 Weapon Schematics or their leg for A.I.D. Heavy Trooper Leg Gear Schematics.
• Power Core Room: Your path will lead you into a room with a large, pulsating power core in the center. This room is heavily guarded by two A.I.D. Heavy Troopers and a single A.I.D. Trooper. Consider luring them out one by one if possible, or use your drone's crowd control abilities.
• Data Pad Acquisition: On a console near the power core, you'll find a Data Pad: Project Nightingale. This lore item provides valuable insight into the A.I.D.'s experiments and the overall narrative.
• Secret Cache: Look for a partially hidden vent on the wall near the power core. Crawling through it will lead you to a small, secluded area containing a chest with Advanced Implant: Energy Converter and a significant amount of Tech Scraps.

Activating the Emergency Bypass

Your next goal is to activate an emergency bypass to open the final door leading out of this section.

• Bypass Terminal Location: The bypass terminal is located on a raised platform at the far end of the lower level, past the power core room. You'll need to use a nearby lift or climb some debris to reach it.
• Environmental Hazards: Be aware of electrical hazards in this area. Some floor panels may periodically emit electrical discharges. Time your movements carefully to avoid taking damage.
• Final Encounter: As you approach the bypass terminal, you'll be ambushed by a Security Drone and two A.I.D. Troopers. The Security Drone can be particularly annoying with its ranged attacks. Focus on disabling its weapon systems first, then deal with the troopers.
• Activating the Bypass: Once the enemies are dealt with, interact with the bypass terminal. This will open the large blast door, granting you access to the next area of A.I.D. Command. collect the Small Tech Scrap Bundle from the console next to the terminal.
