Complete The Hope quest in The Outer Worlds 2. Pilot the Unreliable, power up the ship, and find the Hope Bridge Keycard.
Walkthrough
- 1Pilot the Unreliable (your ship) to The Hope.
- 2Once on board, follow the quest marker (a visual indicator on your HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap), or Heads-Up Display) to the power supply terminal.
- 3Select the "Patch" option to power up The Hope's drives.
- 4Begin making your way towards the Bridge.
- 5If you are working with Sophia Akande, you will meet Quincy Duncan. He will inform you that the way ahead is filled with hostile automechanicals (mechanical enemies).
- 6If you are not working with the board (e.g., if you previously attacked Sophia Akande), you will need to pass speech checks to avoid hostilities: Lie (80), Engineering (50) / Lie (50), Science (50) / Lie (50).
- 7Alternatively, you can Lie (50), Intimidate (80), or Persuade (50) Quincy Duncan to have him unbar a nearby door.
- 8Go inside the unbarred door and grab the UDL Identity Cartridge from the lockers.
- 9If you are unable to make any of the speech checks, go back around and up the stairs to the left to find a level 50 locked door that you can use to gain access.
- 10To avoid being harassed while exploring The Hope, look for a ladder on the building where you obtained the ID cartridge.
- 11Climb up onto the roof and go up a ramp to the interior of the ship.
- 12Climb up another ramp made from fallen debris and carefully walk to the right around the structure.
- 13Here you'll find a terminal that you can use to shut down the automechs if you have Hack 81 (a skill level).
- 14In the main hangar, take the ramp to the upper level.
- 15The door on the right leads to loot. There's a UDL Identity Cartridge on a shelf if you don't already have one.
- 16Go back out onto the walkway and go through the door opposite.
- 17Look in a locker for the Hope Bridge Keycard.
- 18If the keycard is not in this locker, you may be able to find one in the cockpit.
- 19There are various loot containers, one with a level 75 lock. The level 75 locked door provides a way to the lower level, avoiding the main hangar.
- 20Make your way to the cockpit.
- 21Use the terminal to route communications through the Unreliable.
- 22To the left of the console, you may find the body of a Corporate Commander with the Hope Bridge Keycard.
- 23Head north and use the keycard to unlock the door.
- 24There is an elevator to your right and a level 50 locked door ahead.
- 25The room beyond the level 50 locked door is guarded by a Mega Sprat and several Rabid Sprats.
- 26There are various loot containers, and one of the broken pods contains a Flamethrower 2.0.
- 27Go back out and take the elevator up.
- 28Make your way north to the ship's computer.
- 29Patch ADA (an AI companion) through.
- 30To unlock the Sunburn trophy, you can lower your Intelligence attribute to Below Average. Use Adrena-Time (a consumable that slows time and affects attributes) a few seconds apart to reduce Intelligence by up to three points. Select a destination but opt to skip it yourself, then choose the "[Dumb]" option. This will end the game prematurely. Reload your save afterwards.
- 31If you have high Intelligence and Science 80, you can perform the skip yourself. Otherwise, ADA will handle it.
- 32Where you choose to skip The Hope to determines how the ending plays out. Regardless of the destination, you will unlock the Lost and Found trophy.
Tips
- It's worth taking time to explore the ship, at least on your first playthrough. Read the terminals to find out the chilling story of what befell The Hope.
- If you have a Below Average Intelligence attribute, you can use Adrena-Time to reduce your attributes and unlock the Sunburn trophy by skipping the Hope yourself.
- If you have high Intelligence and Science 80, you can perform the skip yourself.
