Explore the elite units of Gondor in The Lord of the Rings Online, including Tower Guards, Archers, Rangers, Knights, and Trebuchets. Learn their strengths, formations, and strategic uses.

Gondor Units:

1. Gondor Soldiers: Basic infantry, useful as meat shields when combined with archers. Can form block formations for a 25% armor bonus at the cost of 40% speed.
2. Gondor Tower Guards: Elite soldiers, 4x the cost of regular soldiers and 15 command points. Feature shield wall formation for an 80% armor bonus at the cost of 75% speed, making them highly resistant to arrows. Barracks must produce 5 Gondor Soldiers before Tower Guards can be produced.
3. Gondor Archers: Basic archer unit. Effective when stationed on walls for defense. Vulnerable to cavalry and siege projectiles if grouped. An Archery Range must produce 5 Gondor Archers before Rangers and fire arrow upgrades are available.
4. Gondor Rangers: Elite archers. Can cloak in forests for ambushes. Can switch to swords when engaged in melee, but their swordplay is limited. With fire arrows, they are very effective against Mumakils. Their skirmish formation scatters them for 300% damage with a 75% armor penalty, ideal for ambushes. Rangers can be detected if enemies get too close.
5. Gondor Knights: Similar to Rohan Knights but more expensive. Faramir leading them significantly boosts their stats. Wedge formation offers a 125% damage bonus at the cost of a 25% armor penalty. A Gondor Stable must produce 3 Knights before the shield upgrade is available.
6. Gondor Trebuchets: Mobile catapults with decent range, effective against formations and buildings. Can be mounted on walls for base defense. Can be upgraded with fire projectiles. Be cautious of splash damage and friendly fire, especially when units are engaging enemies. Can be used to force-fire to exceed unit limits by killing off parts of battalions.

Good Side Campaign Missions:

TIP: Always save your mission after completing a huge objective, especially in long missions like Helm's Deep, Minas Tirith, and Black Gates.

1. Mines of Moria (Fellowship):

• Group units: Aragorn (1), Gandalf (2), Legolas (3), Gimli (4), Boromir (5), Hobbits (6).
• Set Hobbits to rock throwing mode.
• Use the Evenstar power of Elven Gifts to increase hero damage by 50%.
• Prioritize leveling up Aragorn, Gandalf, and Gimli early.
• Veteran upgrades: Aragorn (x2), Gandalf, Gimli, Legolas, Boromir.
• Rotate heroes to the rear to gain levels. Aim for at least level 2 for all heroes to utilize their skills.
• To deal with trolls: use Gandalf's wizard blast and lightning sword, and Aragorn's abilities.
