Navigate The Dark Palace in Part 27 of our A Link Between Worlds guide! Find the Master Ore, Big Key, and beat the Knucklemaster boss.
Alright, let's dive into Part 27 of our A Link Between Worlds adventure! We're heading into The Dark Palace, and there's a bunch of important stuff to grab, including the Master Ore and the Big Key. Plus, we'll face off against a couple of tricky enemies and a boss!
Walkthrough
- 1First up, you'll encounter two Gibdos. Take them out, and the path north will open up.
- 2Continue through the next room and into another. You'll need to merge south through some bars and then head to the east side. Merge again and grab the eyeball. Throw it back west and place it in the socket. This will reveal a big chest and a platform to the south. If you prefer, you can also use your Hookshot to grab the eye.
- 3Head all the way south, merging through walls as needed, and exit the area. Once you're outside, go west. You'll find a Purple Rupee in a chest.
- 4Now, head north and then east. Destroy the bushes here to reveal a hidden hole in the ground.
- 5Drop down and merge west around to find a Big Chest containing the Master Ore.
- 6Go back east and merge around to the eyeball again. Grab it and make your way all the way north. Place this eyeball in the other socket.
- 7Open the Big Chest here to get the Big Key! Now, head back to the dark hall and make your way to the Big Room.
- 8Claiming the Compass: From the entrance, head to the northeast. Bomb the wall there to go north. Grab the Blue Rupee from the chest, then return to the entrance. On the west side, place a bomb near the crystal. Ride the moving platform across to the north. Here, you'll need to throw a bomb up to the ledge above. This will shine light onto the right socket, granting you access north.
- 9After defeating the Helmasaur (it charges, so guard with your shield, then bomb it, or stun it with the Ice Rod and get behind it), move to the northwest button. Bomb the cracked floor tiles and then merge into the wall, heading all the way south. You won't be able to see the floor, but land to grab the first Small Key.
- 10Navigate through the next room, dodging boulders and lighting braziers. Bomb the cracked floor and exit to the northwest. Ride the elevator up and quickly hit both switches to spawn a chest containing the Compass.
- 11Small Key #2 & #3: Place a bomb on the elevator so it explodes when it's at its lowest point. Head south to the Fairy Fountain and bottle up some fairies – always a good idea! Go to the northeast room and defeat the Goriya. Move south past the elevator, and on the top level, bomb the wall to reveal an entrance. Open the two chests in this room for a Purple Rupee and a Monster Tail. On the bottom layer, bomb the northeast tile and drop down.
- 12Grab the Monster Horn from the chest and hop onto the platform. You'll want to avoid using the Lamp here, as you can see better without it. Head up to the northeast and grab the Small Key. Exit to the northwest.
- 13Boss Battle: Knucklemaster
- 14TL;DR: Dodge Knucklemaster's charging fist by merging into walls. In the second phase, dodge its ground-smashing attacks and merge into walls to avoid its charges.
- 15Stats / Weaknesses: Knucklemaster is vulnerable after its charge attacks.
- 16Phases:
- 17Knucklemaster charges its fist and launches it at Link. Merge into a wall to avoid it, which stuns the boss. Get in several slashes. Repeat this until Knucklemaster gets angry.
- 18Knucklemaster starts smashing the floor, breaking it away. Dodge its attacks three or four times, then merge into a wall to avoid its charge, allowing you to get in hits until it's defeated.
Tips
- Don't forget to grab those fairies from the Fairy Fountain before heading into the tougher sections.
- Pay attention to the environment; the eyeball sockets and cracked floors are key to progression.
- The Master Ore and Big Key are essential for your upgrades, so make sure you don't miss them!
