Review Garrick's stats and abilities in Sword of the Sea. Learn about his strengths and weaknesses, and how he compares to Montaron and Xzar.

Garrick possesses fairly decent stats, enough to consider using him, though none are high enough to make him a top recommendation. His Strength provides a damage bonus, but he remains too weak for a superb front-liner, particularly as he needs to wear light armor to maintain his Thieving abilities. Montaron and Xzar are often considered a package deal, though this can be circumvented. As he is not a strong Fighter, Garrick offers little more than a single-class Thief, despite his ability to use Longbows instead of Shortbows. If you choose not to use Garrick, Montaron is an alternative, though you may need to dismiss or eliminate Xzar to avoid excess baggage. Failing to recruit Montaron quickly can lead to his Thief skills being allocated to less useful areas; a Thief unable to Find Traps has limited value. Fortunately, Garrick's Hit Points remain consistently good throughout the game.
