Jaheira can be made more effective by investing in the Small Swords (skill) proficiency, allowing her to use the Dagger of Venom +2. While she could use Rashad's Talon +2, a Scimitar obtainable in Durlag's Tower (which would require the Large Swords proficiency), the Dagger of Venom +2 becomes available sooner and is generally considered superior. In the interim, she should use Quarterstaves.
