Master World 6 of Spelunky 2 with our guide to Neo Babylon's traps, enemies, and secrets, including Tiamat's boss fight and Madame Tusk's Pleasure Palace.

Neo Babylon is the sixth world in Spelunky 2, presenting a bizarre vision of Lunar civilization filled with tiny Olmecs, creature cages, and hazardous chain reactions. The primary mode of vertical traversal here is giant mushroom ladders, which can also be stood upon. While many obstacles deal low damage, the main threats are stunning and fire, often caused by the numerous traps. No specific items are required, but Bombs can be very useful.

New Items

  • Ushabti — These figurines are primarily used for sacrificing at Altars to Kali in exchange for random creatures. They are also a component of the secret ending.

New Traps

  • Force Field — These reflect projectiles and stun, burn, and knock back players who touch them directly. They can be destroyed by targeting the bottom tile, which deactivates them. Destroying the top tile increases their range.
  • Spark Trap — Activates when the player is within 8 tiles horizontally and vertically of its center. It fires a damaging spark in a clockwise circle. Destroying the center block with a Bomb disables it.
  • Laser Trap — Fires a laser in the direction indicated by a small divot. It reloads after firing.
  • Elevator Block — Vertically moving platforms that can be used for backtracking or can crush the player if they are not careful.

New Enemies

  • Olmite — 2 HP plus armor. They come in various forms and can be stacked. While stacked, they only move. Unstacked, they attempt to jump on the player's head (1 damage). Armor reflects attacks, and one hit removes it. Masked Olmites must be hit from the top, while helmeted ones can be hit from the front/back.
  • Lamassu — 10 HP. A centaur-like creature that deals 1 damage on contact. It can detect players through walls and fires a damaging laser (1 damage or tile destruction) with a sound cue. It is immune to head-jumping unless the player has Spike Shoes.
  • Tiamat — The boss of this area, found on level 6-4.

Clearing Neo Babylon

Proceed at a moderate pace, allowing traps like Spark Traps to activate and chain reactions to resolve before moving forward. Rushing can increase the risk of encountering timed traps and Curse Pots. Rock Dogs and Cave Turkeys are useful mounts found here.

Ushabti Location (6-2)

On level 6-2, a backroom entrance leads to a mausoleum containing a Four-Leaf Clover near the entrance. Be cautious of Elevator Blocks in this area.

Madame Tusk's Pleasure Palace (6-3)

Accessible on level 6-3 if you have won five items from Tusk's dice shop. Entering uninvited results in an attack by bodyguards. Inside, you can find bodyguards, Madame Tusk, a Four-Leaf Clover, a Golden Idol, two Cooked Turkeys, and a Royal Jelly. Killing Tusk drops a key to the basement. The basement contains an Altar to Kali and a treasure room with over $100,000 behind Force Fields. The guard at the front door is similar to a Shopkeeper but will not drop his Shotgun if hit by a Rope before equipping it.

Golden Idol Room

The Golden Idol room features Spark Traps and Force Fields. The Idol is worth $30,000 when brought to the exit.
