Gameplay Basics

Movement, Explore! Always explore your surroundings to gather resources, capture buildings, and increase your visibility. Enhancing your movement stat and utilizing a secondary Wielder can significantly speed up looting and resource collection, allowing your main Wielder to focus on combat.

Remember to use the ALT key frequently to identify interactable objects and hidden items.

Make a strategy Decide on your unit goals and research path. Focusing on a few units can make research cheaper and reinforcements faster, but limits flexibility and spell variety. Experiment in the early maps of campaigns to discover preferred tactics and units before planning for the final map.

Make use of your build slots

• Towns: 7 small, 3 medium, 2 large building slots.
• Large Settlements: 3 small, 2 medium, 1 large building slot.
• Small Settlements: 2 small, 1 medium building slot.

Consider building multiple markets (up to 5) if you lack rare resources, as they improve trade prices, unlock high-tier units, and reduce upgrade costs. If you're short on units, focus on reinforcing a specific unit type via Rally Points. If an enemy is approaching, build a tower; they are quick to construct, can destroy dangerous units like Cheluns or Necromancers, and can soften up enemy armies for future battles.

Artifacts

You will find various artifacts during your campaign. Even if an artifact seems unfavorable, it can be sold at an Artifact shop or given to another Wielder. Artifact sets are powerful but not enabled in the base campaigns (Arleon, Rana, Loth & Barya). While aiming for sets is beneficial, be aware that some individual artifacts are stronger than sets, so a mix-and-match approach may be necessary.
