This guide is intended for the Volcanic Islands section of Songs of Conquest. It covers general gameplay basics, faction specialities, and tips for the official campaigns. Please note that this guide is focused on PvE content, as competitive play has different considerations.

Gameplay Basics:

1. Movement and Exploration: Always explore the map to find resources, capture buildings, and gain visibility. Increase your Wielder's movement stat and use a secondary Wielder to speed up looting and resource gathering. Use the ALT key to identify interactable objects and hidden items.
2. Strategy Development: Formulate a plan regarding unit composition and research. Focusing on a few units can make research cheaper and reinforcement faster, but limits flexibility and spell variety. Experiment in early campaign maps (1-3) to discover preferred tactics and units before finalizing your strategy for later maps.
3. Building Slots: Utilize the available building slots in Towns, Large Settlements, and Small Settlements effectively. Consider building multiple markets to improve trade prices if rare resources are scarce. If unit replenishment is an issue, focus on reinforcing specific unit types via Rally Points. Build towers to defend against approaching enemies and soften their armies.
4. Artifacts: Collect artifacts encountered during your campaign. Even unfavorable artifacts can be sold or transferred to other Wielders. While artifact sets are not enabled in the base campaigns (Arleon, Rana, Loth & Barya), they can be powerful. Be mindful that individual artifacts can sometimes be stronger than sets, so mix and match as needed.
