Learn what Flow is in Saints Row (2022), how it functions as a resource for Skills, and how to gain and recover it during combat to maximize your effectiveness.

In Saints Row (2022), Flow is a resource that powers the use of your Skills, functioning similarly to Magic Points in other games. Your current Flow is visually represented by diamonds above your Health bar in the bottom right corner of the screen. Yellow diamonds indicate a full unit of Flow, while black diamonds signify potential, unfilled Flow.

Players begin the game with two units of Flow. This maximum can be increased by unlocking passive Flow Upgrade skills at levels 8, 14, and 20, with each upgrade adding one unit to your maximum Flow. Active Skills consume between one and three Flow points per use, making it a limited resource that prevents constant spamming of abilities. Skills encompass a wide range of actions, including throwing grenades, deploying proximity mines, summoning allies, leeching health, and using sniper rifles.

Flow is regained by damaging enemies in combat, even when using Skills that consume Flow. The recovery rate is significant, leading to fluctuations during intense firefights. The better your performance in combat, the more readily Flow will regenerate. By default, Flow degrades over time, but the Perk In the Flow prevents this degradation, ensuring that only Skill usage depletes your Flow.
