How to Unlock the Playlist In Saints Row

Hey there! So, you're diving into Saints Row (2022) and want to get your music sorted, huh? It's a bummer that you can't just jump in and create custom playlists right away like in some older games. You can still switch stations with the D-Pad while driving, but who has time for that when you're trying to cruise around Santo Ileso? Don't worry, there's a way to unlock that sweet Playlist app, but you'll need to push through a bit of the main story first.

To get your hands on the Playlist app, you'll need to play through the main questline until you reach the mission called Take Me to Church. It's pretty straightforward up to that point. After you wrap up that mission, you'll get two more to tackle: Office Decor and Shootin’ the Shit. Once those are done, you'll unlock another pair of missions, Networking and The Fast and the Foodiest. Completing these missions are key because they not only develop your companions and introduce core gameplay elements, but they also unlock new features. Specifically, finishing The Fast and the Foodiest is what finally unlocks the Playlist app on your phone.

Once you've got the Playlist app, you can really start customizing your ride's soundtrack. Head over to your phone and check it out. You'll find a few options: 'Newcasts' lets you listen to old radio news reports, 'Stations' shows you all the available radio stations and their songs, and 'All Songs' just lists every track in the game. To add a song to your custom playlist, just highlight it and press the [Triangle/Y] button. You can then check out your curated list by selecting 'Custom' under the 'Stations' option. Sadly, it doesn't look like you can completely remove unwanted radio stations like in past games, but at least you can build your own perfect mix!
