Stingray Rifle

The Stingray, formerly known as the Semi-Auto Rifle, is the top choice for a rifle in resident evil 4 remake. While both rifles serve different purposes, the Stingray's semi-automatic nature is advantageous against the faster enemies. Its ability to fire multiple rounds while scoped can be a lifesaver, particularly in escort missions like protecting Ashley in Chapter 7 of the Castle.

The main drawbacks are its availability, only purchasable from the Merchant starting in Chapter 7, and its lower damage output compared to the SR M1903 when fully upgraded. However, most enemies will still fall to a headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill).

You can obtain the Stingray from the Merchant in Chapter 7 by purchasing it with money.

SR M1903 Rifle

The SR M1903 is the first rifle available in resident evil 4 remake. As a bolt-action rifle, it requires reloading after each shot, making it slower than the Stingray. Its significant advantage is its superior firepower; when fully upgraded, it excels at dealing heavy damage to bosses during brief openings.

The trade-off for its power is its slowness and the need to exit the scope to reload, which can be problematic when engaging multiple targets quickly. Ultimately, the choice between the SR M1903 and the Stingray depends on whether you prioritize raw firepower or higher capacity and speed.

CQBR Assault Rifle

While not ranked as a primary rifle for sniping due to its high consumption of Rifle Ammo, the CQBR Assault Rifle is a potent automatic weapon worth mentioning. It's highly effective against tough encounters and mini-bosses like Chainsaw Villagers and Garradors. It shares compatibility with rifle attachments, including the Scope, High-power Scope, and Biometric Sensor.

Upon receiving its Exclusive upgrade, the CQBR Assault Rifle's firepower becomes comparable to the Stingray, making it a formidable automatic option.

The CQBR Assault Rifle is easily missable. You must return to the Library section you played with Ashley, then open the cube puzzle in the southeast area when controlling Leon again.
