Your guide to the Operator Cab in Resident Evil 0. Learn how to stop the train and manage the brake puzzle with Billy and Rebecca.

Alright, let's talk about the Operator cab on the Ecliptic Express. This is where things get serious, as you'll need to stop the train before it's too late! As soon as you enter, a cutscene will play, and you'll realize just how urgent the situation is. You'll receive the Brake Operation Manual, which is key to what comes next. You'll then have to make a choice: will Rebecca or Billy stay here to handle the initial part of the brake operation, while the other heads to the other end of the train to help? Whoever stays behind will explain their plan to the one who leaves. Once you regain control, a timer starts ticking down from 3 minutes 30 seconds. You'll need to be quick! After you've dealt with the brake control puzzle on the Rear Deck (which we'll cover separately), you'll switch back to the character who stayed in the Operator cab to finish the second half of the puzzle here. Once the puzzle in the Operator cab is complete, a scene will play showing the character pulling the brake lever. This leads to the train crashing, and you'll wake up in the Tunnel area. From there, gameplay continues in the Training School/Tunnel. Watch out for that timer – it's your biggest enemy here!
