Part 9

Shoot a portal and walk through. Ignore the floor warning as there are no energy balls.

Look across the water to see the scaffold is running. Shoot a portal above the right side of the scaffold.

Turn around to face your original portal. Wait for the scaffold to come in front of you, then jump onto it. Avoid walking, as you might fall into the water.

After exiting the portal onto the scaffold, look left to see a floating object. You may need to move away to see it.

Wait for the scaffold to bring you over to the grating, then run into the chamberlock.

The computer will state: "Very impressive. Please note that appearance of danger is merely a device to enhance your testing experience."

Enter Test Chamber 09 (TC09).

Go into the small room ahead. The only hazards are boxes being dropped on you or hitting your head.

The computer will repeatedly try to dissuade you, saying phrases like: "The Enrichment Center regrets to inform you that this next test is impossible. Make no attempt to solve it.", "The Enrichment Center apologizes for this clearly broken test chamber.", "Once again, the Enrichment Center offers its most sincere apologies on the occasion of this unsolvable test chamber environment.", "Frankly, this chamber was a mistake. If we were you, we would quit now.", "No one will blame you for giving up. In fact, quitting at this point is a perfectly reasonable response.", and "Quit now and cake will be served immediately."

Look near the far right corner to see a floating object next to a cube.

At first glance, the test appears impossible. Pick up the box and try to take it through the doorway; it will disappear.

Shoot a portal in the cubby near the cube. Lift the cube and bring it through the portal.

After exiting the portal, you will see it floating in the middle of the platform.

Look to where the door is (the black wall) to see a small hole above it. Shoot a portal through this hole.

Grab the box and go back through the orange portal. Set the box on the button.

The computer will state: "Fantastic! You remained resolute and resourceful in an atmosphere of extreme pessimism."

Go into the door.
