Complete walkthrough for Nioh 2's Main Mission '2 Faces of Hospitality', including Kodama locations, sub bosses, and Tokichiro strategy.
- 1Start the mission and speak to the man at the gate to receive an item.
- 2Head inside and turn left to find the 1st Kodama in the corner.
- 3Use the shrine.
- 4Advance past the shrine and fight a ninja and 2 warriors. Check the tower for a corpse.
- 5The gate ahead is locked; take the left path.
- 6In the next area, defeat 3 enemies, one of which is in a tower.
- 7The house on your left as you entered this area leads to a sub boss and allows you to open the gate from earlier.
- 8Backtrack to before the opened gate. In the house right next to the previous one, find a hotspring and an enemy.
- 9Behind a door in the hotspring building is the 2nd Kodama.
- 10Continue along the path to a wide open space. Look left for a path to a chest and an enemy.
- 11Defeat the 2 enemies ahead, one of whom is a special stronger human. Lure him away from his ally and the nearby sniper.
- 12Lure the other soldier and shoot the sniper if visible.
- 13From the boulder ahead, move along the left walls to avoid cannon fire.
- 14Kill the enemy firing the cannon before eliminating remaining enemies in the area.
- 15Press forward to reach the 2nd shrine.
- 16Before speaking to Hanzo (in front of the gate to the left), check behind a wood barrier on the left walls (while facing him) for the 3rd Kodama.
- 17Speak to Hanzo; he will join as an ally. Open the gate and move on.
- 18You will now be on a large bridge. Defeat 2 aberrant soldiers, followed by a large skeleton soldier and 2 skeleton soldiers.
- 19A wheel monk and a rokurorubi will then appear.
- 20Finally, a Yoki and Mitsume yazura will appear, causing a dark realm. Defeating them dispels it.
- 21A corpse at the end of the bridge holds a key to a nearby house (near the 2nd shrine) containing a chest. Open it.
- 22Cross the bridge and head inside the inner fort. You will find a scampuss to your left.
- 23Head further in to meet Honda, who will join you.
- 24Kill 2 human enemies. Near them is a cannon; fire it to create a shortcut to the first shrine.
- 25Advance to an area with several human enemies, including a sub boss who drops a mortal soul core.
- 26Ahead is a dark realm, and to your right is a chest.
- 27Advance into the dark realm and fight a large skeleton soldier.
- 28Jump down to fight a Yoki causing a dark realm (beware of nearby skeleton soldiers).
- 29Behind where the Yoki was, there is a building. Do NOT enter it yet.
- 30Go the opposite way until you reach a fork. Ignore the left path with many enemies.
- 31Find a ladder on your right, go up it, and follow the path.
- 32Cross a bridge made of a wooden boat. Fight 2 enemies.
- 33Ahead is a big branch that leads back to the first shrine. (Warning: If you use the 1st shrine and this shortcut, enemies near the cannon you fired will shoot at you as you cross).
- 34To the right of the branch is the 4th Kodama, behind a wooden boat.
- 35A ladder here leads back to the cannon you fired.
- 36Go all the way back to the house where you killed the Yoki.
- 37Follow the path and find a ladder with an enemy and cannon. Kill the enemy and fire the cannon.
- 38Go down and continue in the large open area full of enemies. Check a corpse next to a building for onmyo locks.
- 39After dealing with all enemies, note the sub boss ahead past the gate.
- 40Go up the watchtower to the right of the gate to find the 5th Kodama.
- 41Fight the Sub boss Yoki and advance.
- 42You will reach a point where your 2 allies leave. Advance to the ladder ahead.
- 43At a fork, to your left is a wheelmonk and a chest. The other path leads to an aberrant soldier next to a cannon.
- 44Kill the aberrant soldier and use the cannon.
- 45Go all the way back to the open space before the Yoki sub boss. You will find an opened-up portion with the 6th Kodama, a sudama, and a grave to search.
- 46Head up the hill past the cannon to find the 3rd shrine.
- 47From the shrine, move forward and defeat 2 human enemies, one of whom is a sub boss. Kill the other one quickly.
- 48Head inside the building. In the building to your left is a corridor with a Rokurorubi. Behind him, behind samurai armor, is the 7th and last Kodama.
- 49Outside, you will find a Flying Bolt sub boss and a corpse to search.
- 50Go back to the entrance of the building. To the right of the entrance is a nuri kabe. Behind it are 2 chests.
- 51In the main courtyard from the entrance, there is an aberrant soldier and a skeleton soldier.
- 52You will also find Ninja locks in a building to your left.
- 53Go towards the gate ahead for the boss.
Boss Strategy: Tokichiro
Tokichiro is a difficult opponent due to his gimmicks and two spirits. At the start or as he takes damage, he will use spirit stones to buff himself, increasing his defense and offense. He attacks like a normal dual wielder or sword wielder but has several burst abilities. One summons his monkey spirit to attack you with fire, and another imbues his weapon with fire, allowing him to use a powerful flame blast directly in front.
Once he is down to half his health, he switches to dual blades and uses his second spirit, which creates light traps on the ground.
- When you start, speak to the man at the gate to receive an item.
- Use the shrines to save your progress and heal.
