Confronting the Sols

Learn how to defeat the Celestial Spectre Shangui mini-boss in Nine Sols. This guide covers Shangui's attacks, weaknesses, and effective strategies for victory.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Shangui is a tougher version of Shuigui.
• Has more damage resistance.
• Replaces regular mines with a larger, circular shock mine.
• Vulnerable to arrow shots, especially when positioned near Azure Sand.

Phases:

1. Shangui will disappear and leave a bomb behind.
2. He may perform a two-hit slashing attack after placing a bomb.
3. He can jump back and place a bomb, or simply stand still.
4. He may disappear and fall from above in a crimson attack.

Strategy:

• Utilize the Azure Sand on the left side of the arena by shooting arrow shots towards it.
• Position yourself to shoot Shangui with arrows, aiming to break the urn only when needed.
• Be ready to jump away from Shangui's bombs.
• If Shangui performs the crimson attack from above, rush behind him for free hits.
• Focus on reaction speed to dodge his attacks and find openings.
• After blocking his slashing attacks, you can attempt to go for the talisman, but be prepared to dodge bombs.
