New Silkbind Attack: Destroyer Oil

Destroyer Oil is a new technique that coats your weapon with an ointment, making monsters flinch more easily. It was first available in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.

How to unlock Destroyer Oil: Learn this technique early in the expansion by defeating the Daimyo Hermitaur from Rondine's quest. This leads you to Elgado, where you'll talk to Master Arlow and Master Utsushi, who will grant you the first batch of new Switch Skills.

New Switch Skill: Twin Blade Combo

Twin Blade Combo is a new combo for the Sword & Shield that replaces the end of the standard combo with a circular backhand slice, followed by a thrust. Its multiple hits make it easier to apply status and elemental effects to monsters.

How to unlock Twin Blade Combo: This technique is unlocked by defeating the Daimyo Hermitaur from Rondine's quest, similar to Destroyer Oil. Master Utsushi will provide this skill along with the first batch of new Switch Skills.

New Switch Skill: Shield Bash

Shield Bash allows you to use a Wirebug to launch yourself forward with your shield raised. If it connects with a monster, you can instantly follow up with various attacks. This skill can also function as a parry if timed correctly.

How to unlock Shield Bash: After completing the MR3★ Urgent Quest “Ice Wolf, Red Moon” and reaching Master Rank 4, you can unlock Shield Bash and the second batch of Switch Skills by speaking with Master Utsushi in the Kamura Gathering Hub.

Switch Skill Swap

The Switch Skill Swap system allows you to change your equipped skills mid-battle. You can customize two sets of skills (red and blue scrolls) at an Item Box. The system also includes the Swap Evade, which lets you evade in any direction by pressing the roll button after swapping sets. This system aims to reinvent gameplay by providing access to different skills on the fly.
