Learn how to recruit Tali, navigate the deadly sunlight, and defeat geth forces on Haestrom in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Includes item locations and combat tips.

Alright, so you've made it to the Far Rim Nebula and it's time to land on Haestrom. This is where you'll be recruiting Tali, so it's a pretty important stop. EDI and the squad will remind you, but seriously, that sunlight out there is no joke – it's deadly to you. The trick is to keep moving, sprinting through the sunny patches and using any cover you find to let your shields regenerate. Don't linger in the light!

When you finally get into combat, just be smart about your cover. Avoid any spots where the sun is beating down directly. There's plenty of rubble around to hide behind, so you should be good. Just remember: sun bad, cover good.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
First things first, hit the gate controls to move forward. You'll encounter some geth enemies right away. Try to stay on the lower level initially.
  2. 2
As you move further in, look towards the east side. You'll find a ramp leading upwards. Just before the ramp, there's a Customized Heavy Pistol upgrade you can scan.
  3. 3
Be ready for a geth enemy that's usually positioned on or near the ramp. Take it out quickly.
  4. 4
The geth tend to bunch up on the top level. If you have the Overload power, this is a great time to use it to clear them out efficiently.
  5. 5
After dealing with the enemies, you'll eventually head back down. There's some Iridium (400 units) to pick up if you missed it earlier.
  6. 6
Continue through the hall. You'll find some items here, including the Tempest SMG. This SMG fires a five-burst shot and has a faster rate of fire than the M-9, though it has slightly more recoil and is less accurate. It's a solid upgrade over the M-4 and M-9 pistols.
  7. 7
You'll also find a Medical Station and a Damaged Mech (worth 3000 credits if you sell it).
  8. 8
Don't forget to grab the Med Kit.
  9. 9
There's also a Damaged Geth Hunter (worth 6000 credits if sold).
Tips
  • Keep an eye on your surroundings for cover, especially places that aren't directly hit by the sun.
  • Use your squadmates' abilities to your advantage, especially against grouped-up enemies.
  • The pistol damage upgrade is easy to miss if you're rushing, so make sure to scan it.
