Goblin Chieftain Grimgor is a formidable early-to-mid-game boss encountered in the Goblin Warrens, a sprawling network of caves beneath the Whispering Woods. Grimgor is known for his high physical damage output and his ability to summon reinforcements. His primary attack, Cleave, deals significant damage in a cone in front of him, capable of hitting multiple party members if they are not positioned correctly. He also has a special ability called Rally the Horde, which summons 2-3 Goblin Berserkers to his aid.

The key to defeating Grimgor lies in crowd control and prioritizing targets. When Grimgor uses Rally the Horde, it is imperative to deal with the summoned Goblin Berserkers immediately. These berserkers have lower health but hit hard and can quickly overwhelm your party. Abilities like Stun, Freeze, or any form of area-of-effect crowd control are invaluable here. If your party lacks these, focus fire on the berserkers one by one, ideally with your highest damage dealers.

Positioning is also critical. Grimgor's Cleave attack has a clear frontal cone. Ensure your tank character is directly facing Grimgor, with other party members positioned behind him or to his flanks. This minimizes the number of characters hit by his primary attack. If your tank is struggling to maintain aggro, consider using a taunt ability or ensuring they have sufficient defensive buffs active. Grimgor's base HP is approximately 1500, and his armor provides a decent physical resistance, so sustained damage is necessary.

A common mistake is to focus solely on Grimgor, oring the summoned Goblin Berserkers. This often leads to a situation where your party is surrounded and taking damage from multiple sources, quickly depleting your healing resources. Another mistake is not bringing enough crowd control or AoE damage, making the reinforcement phase significantly more challenging. Characters with abilities like Whirlwind Strike or Chain Lightning can be extremely effective in clearing out the summoned goblins quickly.

For players struggling with Grimgor's damage, consider equipping gear with increased physical defense or using defensive potions before the fight. The Amulet of Fortitude, if crafted, can provide a much-needed HP boost. If Grimgor's Cleave is proving too difficult to avoid, look for gear that increases dodge chance or provides damage reduction. The fight becomes significantly easier once the summoned goblins are dealt with, allowing you to focus your full attention on Grimgor himself.
