The 'Faint' Mechanic — Kuon Walkthrough

Understand Kuon's 'faint' mechanic: avoid sustained damage and supernatural exposure to prevent temporary vulnerability.

Kuon features a unique 'faint' mechanic that adds another layer of tension. If your character takes too much damage in a short period, or is exposed to prolonged supernatural phenomena, they might 'faint'. When this happens, the screen will blur, your movement will become sluggish, and you'll be unable to attack or use items for a short duration. This leaves you incredibly vulnerable to enemy attacks. While there's no direct item to prevent fainting, managing your health and avoiding sustained damage is the best defense. If you feel a faint coming on (indicated by visual distortions and a character gasp), try to quickly retreat to a safe area or use a Protective Charm if you have one. Some enemies can also induce fainting with specific attacks. Be aware of this mechanic and try to avoid situations that might trigger it.
