Learn the essential driving techniques in Dangerous Driving, including drifting, oncoming, near misses, and catching air to maximize boost. Master Takedowns and Boost Starts for victory.

Dangerous Driving is all about driving dangerously! Perform risks, slam other drivers, and be the first to the finish to win. The game's difficulty is harsh, so don't take it too seriously. This guide covers how to get boost with various risky maneuvers.

Boost Generation

  • Drifting: Steer into a turn and tap the brakes. This is useful for corners, but note that alternating brake and gas will not work.
  • Oncoming: Drive on the opposite side of the road to slowly build boost while avoiding traffic.
  • Near Misses: Pass very close to traffic. This yields significant boost due to the high risk of crashing.
  • Catching Air: Launching your vehicle into the air greatly fills the boost bar. Longer airtime means more boost.

Attacking Other Drivers

While attacking other drivers doesn't directly grant boost, it's crucial for battling AI and other players.

  • Slamming: Hit other drivers on the side, often leading to a Takedown.
  • Shunting: Bump other drivers from behind, pushing them forward. Be cautious near the finish line.
  • Tailgating: Drive closely behind another driver to gain a +10MPH increase (drafting/slipstreaming). Maintain proximity.

Takedowns

Earning Takedowns, where you make other drivers crash, is the most effective way to earn boost and increase your boost bar size up to four times. Takedowns leave smoking wrecks on the track, known as Persistent Wrecks.

  • Takedown: Make a rival driver crash by knocking them off the road.
  • Traffic Takedown: Cause a rival to crash into traffic or another rival.
  • Junkyard Takedown: Make a rival crash into a Persistent Wreck.
  • Aerial Takedown: Take down another driver while airborne.
  • Aftertouch Takedown: Control your wreck in Danger Time to hit other drivers. This only counts if performed during Danger Time.
  • Tailgate Takedown: Tailgate a rival into crashing. These are rare.

Boost Start

Achieve a Boost Start for an immediate advantage:

  1. Method 1: Tap brake, hold gas on '3'. Repeat for '2', '1', and 'GO!'.
  2. Method 2: Hold gas and press brake once at the start of the countdown. On '1', release gas, and before 'GO', press both gas and boost simultaneously.

A successful Boost Start grants immediate boost, allowing you to take the lead instantly. In Heatwave mode, it initiates a Heatwave chain from the start. Mastering this technique ensures first place at the beginning of most races.
