Reflecting on Gran Turismo 7's strengths and weaknesses, from car costs and menu books to multiplayer balance and post-game content. Learn from my experience!
Alright, we've reached the end of the road for this Gran Turismo 7 guide. Before I sign off, I wanted to share some personal thoughts on the game as a whole. It's been a really enjoyable ride, both in the single-player and multiplayer modes, even though it's had its fair share of bumps along the way.
Honestly, GT7 could have been an even more incredible game if a bit more care had gone into its design and balance. The decision to make some Legend Cars cost up to 20 million credits, just because they're real-life collector's items, really misses the point of video games being an escape from reality. I also think the menu book system should have been more flexible, allowing for non-linear progression. It would be much better if it were more like the extra menus, where you can earn money to buy cars in any way you choose.
On the multiplayer front, things got a bit rough for me. The increased front tire wear for controller users, which was already a challenge, became even worse after 2023. It got to the point where I just wasn't competitive in the Sport Mode championships anymore.
But, to give the developers, Polyphony Digital (PD), credit where it's due, they seem to have recognized that the game had a rough launch. They've made a lot of positive changes over the past three years. Beyond the steady release of new cars, tracks, and races, they brought back the ability to sell cars in an improved way. Plus, they've added many unlocks tied to your Collector Level, giving players a clear objective to work towards even after finishing the main content. They've also tweaked credit rewards, including the custom race multiplier and track experience bonuses, which has really helped create a more fun and varied set of ways to earn money in the game.
Finally, I want to give a special shout-out to ZeoKnight's fantastic Racing Lagoon guide on GameFAQs. Reading through it really inspired me to step up my own guide-writing game and create something I can be genuinely proud of having on the site.
