Master Gran Turismo 7's Menu Books 5 through 9 with our comprehensive guide, covering car acquisitions, tuning, and race strategies for Japanese FF Sports Cars, Classic Cars, and more.
Menu Book 5: Japanese FF Sports Cars
Acquire three cars: Suzuki Swift Sport '17, Honda Civic Type R '98, Honda Integra Type R '98. Clear reward: 1 star roulette ticket.
Corresponding series: Japanese FF Challenge 450, no PP limit, FF road cars from Japan.
| Track | # of laps | Prize (cash) | Prize (car) |
| High Speed Ring | 2 | Cr 7,000 | Honda Integra |
| Suzuka Circuit East | 3 | Cr 7,000 | Honda Civic |
| Tsukaba Circuit | 2 | Cr 7,000 | Suzuki Swift |
The game is slowly ramping up the challenge here, with Tsukaba being a particularly technical circuit and the competition here being faster than prior events.
Menu Book 6: Tune a Classic Car
Tune a "Mini-Cooper 'S' '65" to 360 performance points or more. Clear reward: unlock Alsace and Sardegna.
This is the game pointing you towards the tuning shop if you haven't already been using it. The Mini starts with 263 PP, and it's possible to clear this task with sports tyres alone... but then your car won't have enough power to win if you intend on using it in the next menu book. If you've reached collector level 5, a quick way to make the Mini competitive is to purchase a turbocharger (the low and mid RPM options are pretty similar in performance).
Menu Book 7: European Hot Hatches
Acquire three cars: Mini Cooper S '05, Abarth 500 '09, Volkswagen Polo GTI '14. Clear reward: unlock Scapes and GT Auto.
Corresponding series: European Sunday Cup 400, no PP limit, road cars from Europe.
| Track | # of laps | Prize (cash) | Prize (car) |
| Alsace Test Reverse | 3 | Cr 7,000 | Abarth 500 |
| Brands Hatch Indy | 3 | Cr 7,000 | Mini Cooper |
| Sardegna Road B | 2 | Cr 7,000 | Volkswagen Polo |
A couple more new tracks, but nothing too different to what came prior. I recommend getting into a habit of winning these races with a car that's at or below the suggested PP level if you can, as whilst there's no additional rewards for doing so, it will help you improve your skills so that you'll be ready when the game requires you to race in events with a PP limit later.
Menu Book 8: Wash a Car at GT Auto
Clear reward: unlock Tokyo Expressway.
Self explanatory task. You'll receive an introduction to GT Auto when you enter for the first time, and will be revisiting this place a few times in later menu books.
Menu Book 9: Tokyo Highway Parade
We'll need the National B licence in order to enter this upcoming championship. You may have already done this, but if not, here's a short bit of advice I wrote for each test (excluding B-1 which was already covered);
B-2: Starting & Stopping 2, same as B-1 but in a faster car.
B-3: Cornering Basics 1, in this car the Alsace hairpin can be taken flat out.
B-4: Cornering Basics 2, same as B-3 in a faster car, try tapping the brakes to get the car pitched in.
B-5: Cornering Basics 3, Tsukaba sequence, take it flat out and shorten your run to the finish line.
B-6: Cornering Basics 4, same as B-5 in a RWD car, so feather the throttle through the second curve to avoid spinning.
B-7: Cornering Basics 5, Trial Mountain hairpin at speed, it may take a few tries to find the right braking point.
B-8: Cornering Basics 6, Bathurst turn 1, you have a lot of grip on corner exit because the car is 4WD.
B-9: Cornering Basics 7, two turns at Dragon Trial, use the inside kerb and stay in 3rd gear when exiting the second turn.
B-10: Driving Basics, a longer version of the B-5 test, beware of understeer when exiting the first hairpin.
You win a Renault Clio R.S. 220 for finishing the B licence, and if you get all golds, a Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo as well. Either way, you can now enter the Tokyo Highway Parade;
Finish 3rd or higher in the championship. No PP limit (suggested 450), road cars. Clear reward: unlock Multiplayer (including Sport mode), + 1 star roulette ticket.
| Track | # of Laps |
| Round 1: Tokyo Central Clockwise | 2 |
| Round 2: Tokyo Central Counterclockwise | 2 |
| Cash prize (race win) | Cr 10,000 |
| Cash prize (championship) | Cr 20,000 |
The Tokyo course is narrow for a highway and Kevelham's 86 (454 PP) starts a fair way up the road. However, he is often blocked by Blazsan's slower Swift, and even after clearing it he slows down a lot for the turns. You might not necessarily win first try, but it's not an overly hard race if you can stay off the walls.
The prize car cards here are a Mazda Eunos Roadster, Nissan Silvia S13, and Toyota Corolla Levin, but once again you're about to win/obtain all three cars regardless.
