Learn to master the calendar and time management system in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Optimize your Sundays, understand battle types, and make the most of every in-game day.

The Calendar system in Fire Emblem: Three Houses becomes available after clearing the Prologue. It operates on a 12-month cycle, with Part 1 spanning one in-game year. Players primarily act on Sundays, as Mondays are typically dedicated to instructing students (marked by green icons). At the start of each month in Part 1, you receive money based on your professor rank. The Calendar screen also provides access to your journal.

Sundays offer a variety of activities:

  • Explore: Interact with characters, take quests, boost support, skills, and motivation. Activity points, which increase with professor rank, limit these actions.
  • Seminars: Supplement Monday's student instruction.
  • Battles: Raise levels, earn gold and supplies, or acquire powerful weapons through Paralogues. The number of battles possible depends on professor rank (1 battle until rank C/C+, 2 until max, 3 at max). Red exclamation marks indicate rare monster sightings for ore, green marks denote Paralogues, and yellow marks are for DLC battles. Quests can also be initiated this way.
  • Special Events: Occur during explore sessions, indicated by icons: a hook for fishing, a plant for gardening, and a knife and fork for dining hall events.
  • Rest: Restore 50% motivation for all units and repair the protagonist's Hero's Relic durability. Not recommended for efficiency.
  • Optional Activities:
    • Marketplace: Buy weapons, equipment, and supplies.
    • Blacksmith: Repair weapons.
    • Guild: Acquire battalions.
    • Certification: Allow units to obtain specific classes if prerequisites are met (available at level 5).
    • Skipping: Advance to a different in-game date. Use with caution, especially on higher difficulties.

Character birthdays (marked by a yellow birthday cake symbol) allow for flower purchases (200g) or tea time. The last day of each month typically features a mandatory story battle, preventing other activities except for optional ones like Marketplace and Certifications.

Online functions display player activity percentages and stats. During battles, yellow and purple lights on tiles offer experience and weapons, respectively.

There are 6 main types of battles:

  1. Auxiliary battles: Optional, often simple maps with varying rewards (Ore, Meat, Gold). No Renown is gained. Some on Normal difficulty can be played infinitely without using activity points.
  2. Paralogues: Side story battles triggered by specific units after a certain in-game date, often rewarding Hero's Relics.
  3. Quest battles: Available after accepting a quest during an explore session, offering good rewards.
  4. Story missions: Mandatory battles at the end of each month to advance the plot.
  5. Rare enemy battles: Auxiliary battles featuring rare monsters for ore and/or rare weapons. Saving and resetting before selecting can re-roll monster drops.
  6. DLC battles: Battles for additional gold or experience.

The number of consecutive battles on a free day depends on professor rank: 1 battle until rank C/C+, 2 until max, and 3 at max professor rank. Note that even if you don't complete subsequent battles, the free day is still used up after the first battle.
