Piece of the Past

Need to find a special knife for Keith? Follow this guide to navigate the Nostalgia, take down pirates, and secure the weapon in Far Cry 3's Piece of the Past mission.

Alright, so you've just finished up in that cave and Willis is calling. He's got a lead on your buddy Keith, which is great news! Turns out Keith's being held by Buck, who's usually hanging out at the bar in Badtown. To get Keith back, you've got a bit of a fetch quest: you need to find a specific knife for him.

Buck's intel points to a boat named the Nostalgia that Vaas had his hands on. This boat is marked on your map, but fair warning, it's smack-dab in the middle of shark-infested waters and surrounded by pirate boats. So, your first move is to find yourself a boat on the coast and start making your way towards the Nostalgia.

As you get closer to the Nostalgia, expect to be spotted. The enemies on board will open fire. Your best bet is to make a quick dash to the south side of the boat and use the ladder to get aboard. Once you're on deck, you'll likely be swarmed. Get your best gun ready and prepare for a fight. Keep an eye out for two Snipers and a Heavy Gunner among the regular pirate crew.

After you've cleared out all the enemies on deck, head to the east side of the ship. You'll find a door that leads inside. Be ready for more action right away – there's an enemy just inside, walking away from you. A quick Takedown is your best bet here. If you've got your Recurve Bow equipped, you can take out the first guy, then quickly switch to the second one before they can raise the alarm. If you manage to eliminate both of them silently and quickly, you can disable an alarm panel in the room, which will also deactivate any other alarms on the ship.

Head downstairs and open the door to proceed further into the ship.
