Complete Mission 3 (2) in Elite Dangerous by destroying the lockgate and reaching the escape point. Includes setup and sniper tips.

Setup:

  • Auto + BREN and ammo to 3rd Soldier
  • Sniper ammo to 3rd Soldier (a lot!)
  • Ammo to all Soldiers

Objectives:

  1. Destroy the Lockgate
  2. Get to Escape Point
Walkthrough
  1. 1
    Immediately dock your ship on the left (South) bank and have all soldiers disembark.

    Move the 2nd and 4th Soldiers to the road facing the mountains on the South edge of the map. Equip the 4th Soldier with the BREN if not already equipped.
  3. 3
    Position the 1st and 3rd Soldiers near the water, facing North across the river. Equip the 3rd Soldier with the BREN.
  4. 4
    Wait for the music to play, then eliminate the 3 Germans who appear on each side of the river near the mountains. Control the 3rd Soldier to deal with enemies across the river.

    After clearing the initial enemies, have the other soldiers follow the 3rd Soldier to a small incline slightly SW of your position, near the mountains.

    Change the 3rd Soldier to the Sniper Rifle. Move the sniper to the top of the incline.

    From the hilltop, eliminate the sniper in the water tower to the NW.

    Look down at the building to the left of the water tower and eliminate the enemy there.

    If not already dealt with, take out any German soldiers patrolling the building to the right of the tower.

    Shift your attention to the foot of the bridge and eliminate the enemy by the toll booth.

    Hug the mountains moving West towards the bridge. When parallel with the facility entrance, eliminate the 2nd visible sniper in the tower.

    Take out the two visible soldiers on the bridge (one to the left of the tank, two to the right).

    Carefully move close to the foot of the bridge.

    When at the last building before the bridge, strafe left until you see an enemy next to the bridge; eliminate them.

    Bring up the map and order your men to move to your current position.

    Once your men have regrouped, take control of a soldier with an SMG.

    Kneel/Run up the bridge until near the top, then lie down and crawl forward until you see the last German soldier on the bridge (to the left of the tank, with a pistol). Eliminate them.

    Move to the left side of the tank, face it, and use it to climb into the turret.

    Aim at the middle of the gate and shoot it a couple of times to destroy the lock.

    Exit the tank, regroup with your troops, and have them follow you along the road to the West to the Escape Point.

    The mission is complete when all soldiers have reached the Escape Point.
Tips
  • The briefing is only useful for enemy information; do not attempt to bring the boat near the facility.
  • Your squad may engage patrolling enemies inside the facility; this can be beneficial.
  • When sniping from the hilltop, you may only see the head and shoulders of the tower snipers.
  • There are a few enemies on the bridge that can be sniped from a distance, but a closer shot is often easier.
