Learn how to navigate Campaign and Mission selection screens in Elite Dangerous. Unlock new campaigns and missions by completing previous ones.
The first screens you will see when starting Elite Dangerous are the Campaign and Mission selection screens. These screens are straightforward, but this guide provides pointers for navigating them.
Campaign Selection Screen
This is the very first screen you see when starting Elite Dangerous. The 6 Campaigns are represented by small screenshots in a vertical row on the left side of the screen. Initially, only the 1st Campaign will be available. Completing a campaign unlocks the next one in sequence.
After selecting a Campaign, you can view an Intro Movie for it.
The tabs at the bottom of the screen, from left to right, are: (Back), (Intro), and (Forward). Select (Forward) to proceed to the Mission selection screen.
Mission Selection Screen
The Mission Selection screen functions similarly to the Campaign Selection screen. Missions are listed on the left side, and initially, only the first Mission will be available. Completing missions unlocks the next one. Once you complete all missions in a campaign, you can move on to the next Campaign.
For the first mission in each Campaign, you will need to select your team of soldiers and their equipment. Information on soldier and equipment selection can be found in other sections.
As you complete Missions, you can check your status using the "Mission Status" tab at the bottom of the screen. The Status screen displays how many soldiers and how much equipment you have remaining AFTER COMPLETING a mission. For example, in Campaign 1, if you highlight Mission 3 and then move down to the Status tab, you will see the soldiers and equipment you have left after completing Mission 3.
