Mementos are collectible notes found throughout Dying Light 2 Stay Human. As of March 9, 2026, there are 209 mementos in total, distributed across the base game, DLCs, and various in-game events.

Types:

• The majority of mementos are traditional collectible notes found through exploration or during cutscenes.
• Update 1.27 and associated live events introduced new mementos that are tied to meta-game mechanics, RNG, and purchase options.
• The Black Hand bundle requires purchasing and wearing an outfit, then grinding for low-chance enemy drops to acquire notes.
• The Lunar New Year 2026 event featured lootboxes that required opening to obtain event notes, with common reports of duplicates and low-value drops.
• The Walking Dead comic-cover items were event rewards and later purchasable.

Achievements:

• Archivist: Awarded for collecting all 117 original collectible notes. Some notes are missable and tied to missions or story choices.
• Connoisseur: Awarded for collecting 36 of the 37 Bloody Ties collectibles (32 mementos and 4 tapes). Some items are missable or progression-gated.
