Welcome to Mars City! This Doom 3 walkthrough guides you through the UAC reception, security scan, and your first PDA. Get ready for your duties!
Alright, so you've just landed on Mars City, and things are already a bit weird. Two other guys are talking about how rough this place is as you step off the ship. Not exactly a warm welcome, huh? Your first real goal here is simple: head to the reception area.
It's pretty straightforward. Just head up the stairs and through the doors. You'll run into a bunch of people; most will just give you the standard "new here?" greeting, but keep an ear out – some might drop hints or tips. There's a guy sitting on a bench who's really eager to leave Mars; his reasons will become clear soon enough.
Keep going through the door and you'll reach the scan-section. You need to step onto a specific square on the floor and wait for the bio-scan to finish. Once you're cleared (surprise!), you can head through the next unlocked door.
This leads you into a larger room. You'll hear a guy on the intercom bragging about how great the Mars Facility is. You can listen to his whole speech if you want, or just make a beeline for the door directly in front of you. Either way, your destination is the reception room.
Once you're at the reception desk, the guy behind it will hand you your PDA and give you a new objective. Make sure you don't lose that PDA – it's super important!
PDA Update: Grawl
This PDA is your lifeline, basically your second most important tool after your weapons. It'll keep track of your current objective, show you your weapons and items, and let you read emails, listen to audio logs, and watch videos. It's also your key to unlocking doors. When you find other PDAs, you'll download their data, which often includes crucial security codes or useful info. Keep an eye out for data stands around Mars City too, as they offer more information.
