Chapter 11: Alternate Solutions

Navigate Chapter 11: Alternate Solutions in Dead Space. This guide covers objectives like transferring the Marker, meeting Kyne, and positioning the Marker for a successful escape.

Walkthrough:

1. Tram Station: Prepare for the upcoming fights by managing your inventory. Sell excess items for nodes. Recommended items include 2 L med packs, 4 M med packs, 1 ripper ammo, no flame fuel, 1 pulse round ammo, 3 stasis packs, 3 air cans, and moderate ammo for other guns. Do not sell guns, Line Gun ammo, or Plasma Energy. On HARD difficulty, withdraw 3 L and 5 M med packs, bring 2 stasis packs, and buy plenty of ammo for your heavy weapons. Head to the Access Hallway for a scare, then enter the bathroom for an item before saving. Enter the open door.
2. Cargo Bay: Use the cutter to kill the exploder and pregnant. Loot the area for items and lockers. Note that you can collect a node and other items before pushing the button to activate the next sequence.
3. Cargo Bay Fight: After pressing the button, a large wave of enemies including exploders, pregnants, and slashers will attack. Use stasis packs on larger enemies and aim for the head of pregnants. After clearing the initial wave, you will need to slide the Marker down the path. More enemies, including supers, will be unleashed. Use stasis packs and the Cutter (aim high for pregnants) as your primary weapons. You can lure out the two arms on either side of the area by stepping on the far-end walkways and shooting the yellow weak points.
4. Post-Marker Transfer: After moving the Marker, collect more items. Another wave of super slashers and lurkers will attack. Move clockwise around the area to collect items from the corners, including a node opposite the computer. After the third wave, return to the lift, deal with a final slasher, and exit. On HARD, dash for the exit after sending off the marker; enemies won't chase you into the hallway. A log can be found by running around the hallway until Kendra calls.
5. Return to Station: Save and return to the station. Stow or sell any excess items. Consider upgrading RIG HP based on the previous fight. Take the lift up. On CUTER difficulty, buy up to 6-7 boxes of Cutter ammo.
6. Flight Lounge: Collect ammo boxes, then return to the Flight Lounge. Save. Before heading out to the hangar, prepare for an attack of about five slashers and at least two supers. Use force blasts and line cuts to defeat them. Save again and head to the hangar.
7. Hangar Bay - Positioning the Marker: Take the unlocked door and proceed to the control computer. Loot lockers around the corner. Use the computer to enable free-roaming.
8. Hangar Bay - Free Roaming & Trophy: Head to the left side, stopping on the middle walkways. Look over the side between the walkways to find a trophy. Kinesis it to earn an achievement/trophy. On the left side by the Kellion, find two items on the floor, and three boxes on the wall by the door at the far end. Be aware that lurkers may attack even from across the room. On a second playthrough, you can sell the trophy.
9. Hangar Bay - More Loot & Marker Path: Go to the far right side of the room, near the computer. Get on the ground for three wall boxes and a box under the computer. Make your way under the ship. Keep an eye left for about six lurkers, using cannisters for kills. Collect items from wall boxes. Approach the Marker.
10. Hangar Bay - Moving the Marker: Move the Marker along the rail until it stops. Use the panel at the crossing to move the path. Place the Marker in the dead-end, use the panel again to reset the track, and continue moving the Marker. Two super leapers will appear as the Marker nears the end. Use the panel to get the Marker on the track under the ship. Two lurkers will appear to the left. Push the Marker under the ship.
11. Restore Gravity: Jump to the screen above the gravity panel, then jump down and turn on the weight.
12. Get in the Shuttle: Proceed to the shuttle.
