How to Unlock All Security Clearance Levels in Dead Space Remake

Alright, so you've probably noticed by now that some doors, chests, and lockers in the Ishimura have little numbers on them, right? That's your Security Clearance level. You'll see these numbers on your map too, which is super helpful for knowing where you need to backtrack once you've got the right clearance. When you try to open a locked container, it'll even tell you what level you need. Don't worry though, you don't have to hunt these down – you actually get all three main Security Clearance Levels automatically as you progress through the story.

Security Clearance Level 1 is yours once you grab the Captain's Rig. You'll find this on the Medical Deck during Chapter 2, titled 'Intensive Care'. Just keep pushing through the main story, and you'll snag it.

Next up, Security Clearance Level 2. This one comes your way after you have a chat with Hammond. He's chilling in the Captain's Nest, and you'll meet him in Chapter 4, 'Obliteration Imminent'. Then there's Security Clearance Level 3. You'll get this automatically after you pick up Dallas' RIG. This is located on the Mining Deck, which you'll visit in Chapter 7, 'Into the Void'. Keep your eyes peeled for it as you make your way through that chapter.

Now, for the big one: the Master Override. This is the highest clearance you can get on the Ishimura, and it's your ticket to some seriously good loot, like valuable Nodes and Weapon Upgrades. To snag this, you'll need to complete the 'You Are Not Authorized' side quest. This means finding all six Rigs scattered throughout the ship. The catch? The final Rig isn't even available until Chapter 10, 'End of Days'. So, you'll have to be patient and play through a good chunk of the game before you can unlock this ultimate clearance.
