Walkthrough:
- Coldhearth Boss Fight: You'll encounter Coldhearth, a greater lich. You cannot defeat him initially. Find the secret door in the west wall, enter the hall, and locate the phylactery in a room. Destroy the phylactery in the summoning chamber's flame (3,000xp). Coldhearth becomes vulnerable. Use 'Secret Revealed' on him to weaken him further before defeating him (22,000xp, ancient key). Return to Brother Deepvein to report his death and receive a scroll of [greater restoration] and the helm of Dumathoin.
- Coast Way Forest (BD7000): Arrive in the northeast. Skye will kill a thief and an ogre, claiming they were poisoning camp rations. Send her back to camp. Head southwest to a camp with adventurers Irkros and Isabella, who are hunting a vampire. The vampire, Tsolak, will appear and attack. After defeating him and summoned dire wolves, Isabella gives you a stake to finish him off. Follow the path northwest to a cave, enter, find his coffin, use the stake, and loot the coffin and a chest. Return to Isabella for your reward (250gp, 9,000xp, shield +2 Suncatcher). In the southwest, defeat orcs who killed refugees and looted their wagon to obtain the dagger +1 Gemblade. Find Rasaad in the southwest; he can join you or be sent to the Flaming Fist Encampment or Baldur's Gate.
- Waylaid by Enemies (Random Encounters): These occur randomly between areas after reaching Coast Way Bridge and before the attack on Dragonspear Castle.
- #1: Orcs and Trolls (BD0060): Find orcs fighting trolls in the northeast. Defeat them. Enter the cave (BD0061) to fight more trolls, find a dead body (171gp, 2 RANDOM items) with a book on Dragonspear Castle, and a cache (winter wolf pelt). Another cave (BD0062) contains trolls, carrion crawlers, and jellies, with treasure on a body and a cache.
- #2: Dragon and Giants (BD0064): Encounter giants attacking a juvenile green dragon. After defeating the giants, the dragon reveals a hidden dwarf cache in the northwest containing an Ioun stone, gems ([beljuril, kings tear, diamond]), and 1000gp.
- #3: The Pit (BD0066): Find goblins who massacred refugees west of your entry point. Further west is a pit with bombardier beetles and ankhegs. In the pit area (BD0067), encounter myconids over dead adventurers (spells [lower resistance, teleport field, minor spell deflection]). Continue through more myconids to find another dead adventurer with elven chain, long sword +2 Spellbreaker, and a hidden gem [star sapphire].
- #4: Dead Magic Pass (BD0063): This zone prevents spellcasting but allows potions and wands. You'll face mercenaries and an assassin, dropping arrows ([20 biting, 20 piercing +1, 80 +1]), bolts ([20 biting, 20 lightning, 80 +1]), axe +1, short sword +2 Vexation, and Shadow studded leather +3.
