Guide Arno through his imprisonment in the Bastille. Learn to perfect parries, perform stealth kills, and use smoke bombs to escape.
Walkthrough
- 1You'll begin in a cell in the Bastille. Take a moment to look around, paying attention to the markings on the walls. Talk to the other inmates, then examine the cot to rest.
- 2The next morning, the man who shares your cell (the one with the Assassin writings) will challenge you to a duel. This is a tutorial for perfect parries. Execute them to win the duel, triggering a cutscene. Afterward, use Eagle Vision to reveal the writing on the wall.
- 3Bellec will introduce himself and reveal details about Arno's past and his father. After two months of training, it's time to escape the Bastille with the help of the rioting French citizens outside.
- 4When you regain control, head to the room with the Assassin writings. Take cover and wait for the guards to enter. Once they've settled, break cover, sneak behind the far guard, and perform a stealth kill by holding [O]/[B] as prompted.
- 5Bellec will run off; follow him until he reaches a gate and asks you to cover him. This is where you can work on the optional objectives. Start by getting three Perfect Parries by pressing [O]/[B] just as the attack bar flashes yellow.
- 6When the second wave of guards appears, complete the second optional objective by tapping [R1]/[RB] to throw a Smoke Bomb. You can continue attacking the stunned enemies, but ensure you throw three Smoke Bombs in total before defeating the last guard.
Tips
- The duel with Bellec is purely a tutorial for perfect parries. Focus on timing your parries correctly to learn the mechanic.
- Use the environment to your advantage for stealth kills. The cell provides good cover.
- Smoke Bombs are crucial for crowd control and completing the optional objectives. Don't hesitate to use them when facing multiple enemies.
