The game sets the stage with Arno Dorian, a French nobleman who was adopted by the Templar Grand Master, Francois De La Serre. De La Serre raised Arno alongside his own daughter, Elise, after Arno's father, an Assassin, died. Things take a dark turn thirteen years later, right before Elise is set to join the Templar Order. De La Serre is murdered, and Arno gets framed for it, landing him in the Bastille. His main goal from here on out is to find the real killer of the man who raised him. This quest will pull him into the Assassin Brotherhood and reveal a conspiracy far bigger than he could have imagined.
